STORY TIME 🍿
Hi hi!!! Aliser here 🙋🏻♀️👋🏼
I wanted to share the story of how we ended up becoming the owners of Abe’s. Facebook kindly reminded us of this wonderful memory and we think it’s a good story, so here it goes…
Eight years ago, I was vlogging about local businesses around Airdrie. I wanted to showcase local gems in our community, and that’s when I came across this wonderful little restaurant: Abe’s.
The day I filmed there, we stayed for a family lunch and had such a great experience. The food was delicious, the service was warm and friendly, and we just felt so good being there.
While chatting with the owners at the time, Luis casually said, “I would love to own a place like this one someday.” ☺️🫶🙃 (Careful what you wish for…)
One week later, we received a text from one of the servers giving us a heads-up that the restaurant was actually for sale… 🤩
The truth? I said, “No thanks,” and carried on with life without even mentioning it to Luis.
But three days later, after a long and frustrating day fo Luis, working as the Director of a golf course, he came home and said, “If I’m going to put this much work into something, I wish it could be something that was mine.” 🔮🪽
And immediately, I remembered the message I had received a few days before. 💡
I showed it to him.
He called the owner, and within a few days, the deal was done.
Eight years ago, we said yes to a beautiful opportunity, one we had spoken about and dreamed of before it unexpectedly landed in our laps.
We are incredibly grateful for the blessing, the journey, the opportunity, our Abe’s family/team, and every person who has crossed our path along the way. We truly would not be here without each and every one of you who has supported us and contributed to our story.
The restaurant industry is not easy, and yet somehow, together, we’ve continued to grow, learn, create, change, adapt and stick around.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being part of our journey.
THANK YOU!!
