Another beautiful weekend is lining up in Alma and the patio at The Octopus’s Garden Café and Bistro is ready for it.

Breakfast starts at 8am on weekends, lunch rolls all afternoon, and dinner brings out the handmade pasta, local seafood, slow braised favourites, and desserts made from scratch daily. Three distinct menus, all with their own personality, all made with the same focus on quality and creativity.

WEEKEND BREAKFAST
House made hollandaise over eggs Benedict with choices like local ham, smoked salmon, or lobster…fresh baked pastries…great coffee…and one of the best morning spots in the Fundy region to ease into the day.

LUNCH
Creative comfort food inspired by Chef Joël Cadieux’s travels and ideas over the years. Fresh chowders, sandwiches, vibrant specials, house baked sweets, and the famous Thai red curry chowder that people drive long distances for.

DINNER
Fresh handmade pasta made daily, sauces prepared to order, Atlantic seafood, duck confit, lamb shanks, beautiful wines, local beer, and seasonal chef features throughout the weekend.

And yes…the dog friendly patio is open and ready beside the sound of Cleveland Brook running below.

The weather is looking absolutely beautiful this weekend in Alma…sunny, warm, bright skies and the perfect excuse for a drive to the coast.

And now there’s even more reason to visit because weekend BREAKFAST is officially back at The Octopus’s Garden Café & Bistro!

We’re now open weekends from 8AM–9PM serving three completely distinct menus throughout the day — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — each one creative, fresh, varied and crafted with the same attention to detail that has made the OGC a destination for so many people over the years.

Whether it’s fresh baked pastries and desserts made in-house daily, rich espresso drinks and some of the best coffee around, brunch favourites and eggs Benedicts, creative lunches inspired by food from around the world, handmade pasta and carefully crafted dinners, or our BRAND NEW cocktail menu launching this weekend…

…there truly is something here for everyone.

This is the one.

The long weekend that kicks off the season…when Alma comes alive again. And just around the corner, something special is waiting for you.

The OGC is ready.

The patio is open — sunny, shaded, dog-friendly, and set along the sound of Cleveland Brook. The kind of place you sit down for a drink…then realize you don’t want to leave.

And starting Saturday… breakfast is back.
Weekend mornings (plus Monday), done properly:

• Eggs Benedict with local ham, lobster, or smoked salmon

Mother’s Day is this Sunday!

Every year, we see something special happen here. Tables fill with families bringing the most important woman in their life out for something that says more than words can …you deserve the best.

At The Octopus’s Garden Café, that means a vibrant lunch menu full of flavour and creativity… and in the evening, our handmade pastas ,crafted fresh, the way they should be, for a meal that feels like it matters.

Because it does.

Motherhood is a kind of work that doesn’t clock out. It’s steady, sacrificial, often unseen… and absolutely foundational. This weekend is a chance to pause and honour that.

On a personal note — I want to acknowledge my wife, Alisha. For 19 years she’s been an incredible mother to our five girls — Alma, Clover, Willow, Hazel, and Pearl. From a first-year university student to our 7-year-old, each of them carries her strength, her care, and her character. They look up to her, and anyone who knows her understands why.

That’s the kind of impact we’re celebrating this weekend.

Patio season is starting a little more every day—and more and more people are choosing to sit outside.

We’re in full swing now.

Some of you remember…Some of you have heard the stories…And some of you are about to discover it for the first time.

For years, The Octopus’s Garden Café was famous for its chili — and this weekend, it makes its long-awaited return.

Rich. Hearty.Spicy, sweet, beefy, and beanie — the kind of chili that people talked about, came back for, and honestly… never quite forgot.
