🚨 ATTENTION: CLEARING THE AIR & PUTTING THE RUMORS TO REST 🚨
​Following a post on Jay’s personal page showing the vandalism to our sunroom windows, we want to address some of the talk going around town.
​Jay wrote this update to clear the air and make sure everyone has the facts straight. He originally posted that video on his personal account just to show his friends what we’ve been dealing with, and didn't realize how far it would spread.
​First and foremost: Anyone suggesting another local bar had anything to do with this is completely off base. It’s ridiculous.
​Amherst has a tight-knit history. Many of us spent our younger years rotating through the classic local spots—Thursday nights at Teazers, Friday nights at the Elm Tree, Saturdays at Legends, or hanging out at Dooleys.
​When Rod Wilson took Dooleys over, he turned it into an incredible nightclub and the absolute most happening spot to go to in town. Even though we lost Rod to cancer quite a few years ago now, he was truly one of the best guys ever, and he built a legacy here in Amherst we still talk about today.
​Out of respect for guys like him and the community we all share, there’s absolutely no bad blood among the businesses here. Our fellow local owners would never do something like this.

​Here is the actual truth of what happened:

​❌ The Windows: We know exactly who did the vandalism because we have the minors on video.

​❌ The Wiring: We know exactly who is responsible for our wiring, and we know exactly who they are.

​That’s all there is to it. The post yesterday was just to show the damage and let people know we see what's going on.

📢 Teazers Bar & Grill Update 📢
Here's a quick update for everyone!
The final electrical component has now been installed, and today our electricians submitted the necessary permits to Nova Scotia Power. Our power restoration is currently scheduled for July 23rd.
Tomorrow, we'll be starting the layout for our brand-new kitchen, and once the power is restored, we'll be able to move ahead with the remaining renovations.
Our goal is to open around August 1st. If we run into any unexpected delays, we're aiming for mid-August at the latest.
Unfortunately, we've had to deal with three separate acts of vandalism since taking over the bar. The biggest setback was the theft of our electrical wiring for copper, which delayed getting power restored. While we can't control things like that, we're doing everything we can to keep the project moving forward.
Thank you for your patience and continued support. We're getting closer every day, and we can't wait to welcome you back to Teazers Bar & Grill!

📢 Quick Update from Teazers Bar & Grill
We're still hoping to open on July 17th, but at this point we just don't know for sure. Our electricians are currently waiting on the necessary permits from Nova Scotia Power before they can complete the work.
As soon as we have a confirmed opening date, we'll let everyone know. We truly appreciate your patience and support while we get everything ready.
One more thing: we'd like to ask everyone to please keep the comments respectful. We don't allow bashing or insulting other bars or restaurants on our page. They may be competitors, but they're also local businesses working hard just like we are.
Comments attacking other businesses will be removed.

After a lot of conversations with our suppliers, negotiating pricing, and crunching the numbers, we're excited to announce that Beat the Clock Wings are coming to Teazers Bar & Grill!

Every Wednesday & Thursday

🕔 Starting at 5:00 PM until 2:00 AM

We've worked hard to make this happen, and we can't wait to bring back one of the area's favourite wing nights.

We're looking forward to welcoming everyone through the doors when we open, and we've got plenty more exciting announcements coming soon.

We've been receiving quite a few questions about gluten-free options, so we wanted to address them.
Teazers Bar & Grill will be serving classic bar and grill fare. After looking at our kitchen layout and equipment, we've decided that we won't be offering dedicated gluten-free preparation or separate fryers.
For those with gluten allergies or celiac disease, we can't guarantee that cross-contamination won't occur, so we don't want to make promises we can't safely keep.
We sincerely apologize to our gluten-free friends, but we'd rather be upfront and honest than offer something we can't prepare safely. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Our friend Matt, who owns his own pizzeria, will be bringing his recipes and experience to Teazers. He'll be helping us recreate these amazing handmade pizzas right here for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks to everyone who entered our trivia contest. We had some great guesses!
For those who were wondering where the name Teazers came from, here's the story...
The name comes from the legendary Young Teazer, one of the most famous ships in Nova Scotia history.
During the War of 1812, the original Teazer was captured by the British. Its crew, including Lieutenant Frederick Johnson, was released on parole after promising not to fight against Britain again until they were officially exchanged. Instead, Johnson returned to sea aboard the Young Teazer, breaking that promise. �

After an 18-hour chase, the Young Teazer was cornered in Mahone Bay by British warships. Knowing that he had broken his parole and fearing capture—and, according to many historical accounts, fearing he could be hanged for doing so—Johnson is believed to have run below deck and ignited the ship's powder magazine. The explosion destroyed the Young Teazer, killing most of the crew and creating one of the most famous maritime legends in Nova Scotia. �

Since then, generations of Nova Scotians have told stories of the mysterious "Teazer Light," a ghostly burning ship said to appear in Mahone Bay near the anniversary of the explosion.
It's an incredible piece of our province's history, and we're proud to carry that name forward at Teazers Bar & Grill.
