A huge shoutout to three amazing students (AKA The Free Period Crew) from Balcarres Community School who spent their day giving our Community Pantry a beautiful makeover! 🎨🌸☀️🍂❄️

These talented young ladies, Angel, Amber & Lily, painted the pantry to represent all 4 seasons, turning it into something bright, welcoming, and full of community spirit. Their hard work, creativity, and kindness truly made a difference and brought so much life and colour to our little space.

Thank you for using your time and talents to help make our community even more beautiful — I appreciate you more than words can say!

🌱 COMMUNITY PANTRY NOW OPEN 🌱

We are excited to announce that our community pantry is officially open! ❤️ It isn’t much to start but there is a few things ready for someone who needs them!

This pantry was created with the idea that everyone deserves support, kindness, and access to essentials. Take what you need, leave what you can, and help us build a stronger, more caring community together.

Donations of non-perishable food items, toiletries, garden produce, and pantry staples are always appreciated. Whether you give or take — everyone is welcome here without judgement! The pantry is located at the back of Turtles Tea Room 🐢☕️

Today Balcarres Community School showed just how powerful we can be when we come together. ❤️

Walking for Red Dress Day in honour of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls & Two Spirit people, the students with staff & families stood in unity, respect, and remembrance. Even in a small town, our voices matter. Our steps matter. And today, they carried strength, awareness, and hope.

Proud of our school for leading with heart and standing for something so important. 🧡

Along with our earrings created by Jill Sieben we also have some made by Delphine Agecoutay! Some beautiful work from locals for sale!!

The Tea Room will have a bigger display shelf next week so any local crafters or artists fee free to contact us for a spot!! We do not keep a commission, we just sell and let you know when you have money here 🙂

The Balcarres Legion Branch 84 has left the applications for the 2026 Grants and Scholarships here in the Tea Room. Any graduates from our community and surrounding are welcome to come in and grab an application!
