Food For Learning

A serving of magic, made possible by many hands. ❤️

At Sophiasburgh Central School, volunteers are scooping, serving and sharing warm lunches through the partnership with the County Food Hub 👩‍🍳

It’s incredible to see firsthand what a difference a few helping hands can make. Because when communities come together, students are nourished, ready to learn and set up to succeed.

Have a little time to give? You could make a big difference. We need more hands to make the magic happen! ✨

It’s Food for Learning Friday! 🍏🎃

There are no tricks here; but it was a wonderful treat to have visited such an incredible Food for Learning program this morning at Tyendinaga Public School.
They do an amazing job of serving up wholesome foods, warm smiles, and a truly welcoming environment that brings everyone together.

A heartfelt thank you to the dedicated staff, volunteers, and the entire community for your ongoing commitment to creating a positive impact through student nutrition programs every day! 🧡🖤

This Halloween, the Hastings and Prince Edward Learning Foundation (HPELF), in partnership with local HPEDSB secondary schools, is turning local spirit into life-changing support with the launch of the annual “Halloween for Hunger” Food Drive.

From Monday, October 26th to Friday, October 30th, local student leaders, volunteers, and community members are coming together to collect non-perishable food items and essential supplies. Every single donation will go directly to stocking the Sharing Cupboard in the donor’s local secondary school.

Community members can make a direct impact by dropping off items at their local secondary school or by making a financial contribution online at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/150362 or www.hpelearningfoundation.com/donate.

Food for Learning Friday!! 🍏✨

Frankford Public School is doing incredible things with their Student Nutrition Program!
From healthy, delicious options to bright smiles and a warm, welcoming environment, Frankford is truly bringing the community together through good food.
We are so grateful for the dedicated staff and volunteers who work so hard to nourish their school community, and for the students who participate with so much enthusiasm! 🍎❤️

"They [students] all came together, socialized, tried new things, were so polite... many offered to help clean up afterwards. It was so good for the soul and the school community!!!”
— Dedicated Frankford Food for Learning Program Coordinator

Thank you, Frankford Public School, for making a difference every single day! 🙌 Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board

It takes a village to nourish students! ❤️

We’re proud to share what’s happening at St. Paul Catholic Secondary School, where a community of passionate people come together to ensure students have access to nutritious food every school day.

From dedicated volunteers to supportive school staff and administration, this program is a wonderful example of what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

A big thank-you to everyone who helps make programs like this possible. You’re making a difference, one meal at a time! 🍎

Vicky and Ashlyn made a trip up to Bancroft earlier this week to visit a few of the incredible Student Nutrition Programs in the North! 🍎✨
A big thank you to every student, staff member, and volunteer at all four schools for making their visits so warm and welcoming! ❤️
It is truly incredible to see the impact of a Food for Learning program in action—and the amazing community support that drives it. Food isn’t just about fueling bodies; it’s about connection, community, and belonging. And the North absolutely gets it! 🌲🙌
Thank you for having us—we had such a wonderful time! 📸✨

Feeling thankful for our incredibly supportive community today! ❤️

Two Food for Learning committee members - Ron Speck (HPEDSB Trustee) and longtime community member supporter - Kelly Leveque, were out delivering appreciation certificates to thank our amazing partners for last year's Make Happy Tummies campaign! 🍎 Also pictured is cashier extraordinaire at Madoc Foodland.

Together, these two Foodland stores raised over $6000 for Food For Learning programs. 100% of donations go directly to local Student Nutrition programs to purchase healthy food for students.

Stay tuned as we continue visiting store locations across the region to show our appreciation! 💙

It truly takes a village to ensure our kids are fed and ready to learn! 🧡

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍂 🍁
