Once a year we get to celebrate the anniversary of our marriage, but every morning I get to wake up to the love of my life.

James here, and I'm commandeering this channel for personal reasons today.

There are 13 provinces and territories, 195 countries, 7 continents, and 9 planets (I got ya, Pluto 🤜🤛). There are countless stars that may hold countless other worlds, and countless other lives we will never know.

There have been 6 great cradles of civilization, 8 distinct eras of humanity, 11 thousand generations of families, and more than 115 billion people who have walked this planet.

And somehow, across all of that time and space...

I found you.

Well, I mean...you found me. In my pajamas. But, still.

Every morning I get to wake up to the one who still surprises me, the one who knows me for all my goods and bads, the one who stands by me and up for me, and the one I've been playing Mario Kart with for over 32 years.

26 years ago we stood out at Rideau by the flower bed, our flower girl and ring bearer running circles, our friends and family behind us and the entire future ahead of us.

I am thankful for you. I am so glad Bobbi showed off your haircut and McVicar made me give you a birthday card I'd made for you but was too embarrassed to share. I am glad you were so patient while it took me hours of standing there under the stars to build up the courage to give you a kiss. I'm thankful for Thursdays and lofts and gravel roads and RPGs and BBQs and tornados when we're camping and laughing and crying and bringing up three reasonably decent offspring and rainy days and sleeping in.

And every morning I get to wake up next to you, get ready with you, and work by your side.
