🍗🧇 Happy National Chicken & Waffles Day! 🎉

Whoever decided to put fried chicken on a waffle deserves a standing ovation. 👏🤤

Golden, crispy chicken piled onto our delicious waffles, with a little sweet Canadian maple syrup, pickles, and coleslaw to bring it all together. It's comfort food at its finest! ❤️

Meet Richard Carpenter Richard Carpenter — mayoral candidate, former councillor, and family man! Richard's Waffle is a delightful mix of Canadian Maple Syrup and gummy bears with a mound of chocolate ice cream in the middle surrounded by pillars of whipped cream.

🧇 Favourite Waffle Moment: Growing up with 10 siblings, waffles were a luxury! Today, his wife makes blueberry waffles using a waffle maker gifted by their daughter. His real weakness, though? The ice cream! 🍦

🏙️ His Brantford: Richard wants a more collaborative City Hall, stronger relationships with Six Nations and Brant County, and monthly town halls where residents can speak up. He says that he won't use Strong Mayor powers because having the majority of council support matters more.

🚗 Downtown: More housing, cleaner streets, 24/7 police presence, free municipal-lot parking, longer parking limits and more two-way traffic to make downtown safer and busier.

🏪 Small Businesses: Less government red tape, more City promotion of local businesses and stronger neighbourhoods through his proposed Good Neighbour Program.

🏠 Housing & Safety: Richard supports a Housing First approach, spreading permanent housing across the city rather than concentrating it in one area. He also wants Fox Ridge used for addiction treatment and rehabilitation.

💼 Fun Fact: Richard spent 37 years working for the post office and has served in local government and community leadership roles.

Meet Leslie Bory — mayoral candidate with some bold ideas for Brantford! Leslie's waffle lets the good ol' waffle shine through with just a sq**rt of maple syrup, glob of butter, and a little whipped cream on top.

🧇 Favourite Waffle Moment: Saturday mornings as a kid, waking up at 6 AM for Eggos with Aunt Jemima syrup while watching Professor Kitzel. A classic childhood memory! 📺

🏙️ His Brantford: Leslie wants to tackle what he calls corruption, dismantle what he describes as the city's “15-minute Brantford” surveillance network and remove fluoride from drinking water.

🚗 Downtown: He wants City Hall to listen more closely to business owners, extend parking hours, and in his words, “get rid of the communists giving out tickets.”

🏪 Small Businesses: Leslie proposes freezing property taxes, reducing police spending, and protecting freedom of speech. He also hopes to eliminate property taxes if he ever becomes Prime Minister.

📣 Brantford's Reputation: Leslie says, “I am going to be a mayor that is not a globalist or communist.” He wants to be known internationally for honesty and courage.
