WE FRIGGIN DID IT!!!!!

1ST PLACE TIE AT THE The Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue

I mean it simply doesn’t get any better!!!! Of all the international teams from around the world who descended upon Lynchburg, Tennessee for the world championships of BBQ! Cookin From The Homeland came down to a TWO WAY TIE for 1st place down to FOUR DECIMAL PLACES BETWEEN THE TWO CANADIAN TEAMS competing in it!!!

It literally came down to a coin toss to decide the winner and our great pals at Nathan Richter and 333BBQ from Saskatchewan took the win and we’re bringing home the 2nd place barrel head!! Haha we are NEXT LEVEL beside our selves with a Canadian 1st and 2nd Amongst the best Q’rs in the world!!!

There is simply no higher achievement in the world of barbeque than qualifying for the The Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue yesterday was an incredibly emotional day sitting with my teammate Darren Clark Waiting to hear the news! Then, finally, just after lunch time, Jack Daniels finally announced this year‘s list of qualified competitors! After over a decade barbeque competitions… The Notorious P.I.G YYC was chosen to represent Canada at this years world championships!!! we simply could not have even come close to accomplishing this without all the amazing folks who have supported us throughout this entire journey!!! Well... after an amazing stampede full of BBQ championship wins and some massive corporate BBQ Classes, I guess it's officially time to offer the BBQ class to the public for the very 1st time!! August 10th and 11th will be BBQ MADNESS at Tool Shed Brewing Company ! Saturday will be THE PERFECT STEAK class and Sunday will be the full FUNDAMENTALS OF BADASS BBQ class . Holy F’n EEEFFFFF!!!!! Last night I got to the chuck wagons and brought my Tool Shed Brewing Company team to the midway to check out BBQ ROYALTY!! Last years winner of best carnivore food Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ right beside THIS YEARS winner Smokin’ Outlaws BBQ!! These are two of the greatest competition bbq team in Canada and an AMAZING opportunity to see what the best bbq in the country tastes like!! If you haven’t already checked it out….DOOOOO IT!!! POST COMPETITION WAGYU STEW!!! How the FRIG have I not thought of this before!? Coming home from a competition with a big ziplock bag of super expensive wagyu brisket, I just can’t eat brisket all the time! But a quick 30 minute instant pot recipe using cubes of these competition leftovers? hickory smoked, beautifully seasoned wagyu brisket stew is officially a GAME CHANGER!!! Well, we figured we'd celebrate our new partnership with Alberta Pork at this year's Embers and Ice Pitmaster Challenge by winning 1ST PLACE in pork ribs, 1ST PLACE for our smoked, bacon-salted-caramel, red velvet beet brownies, and 2ND place in pork butt!! that was good enough to WIN RESERVE GRAND CHAMPIONS!! Well we FRIGGIN DID IT!!!! The Notorious P.I.G YYC just won the BBQ Grand Championship this weekend qualifying us for the 2024 American Royal Invitational World Series of BBQ, as well as the Kansas City BBQ Society World Invitational BBQ Championship!! So unbelievably pumped to have pulled off this amazing win alongside my trusty BBQ compadre Darren Clark !!!
