Happy Mother’s Day from Saigon Maxim
This Mother’s Day, our hearts are full of gratitude as we remember our journey to Canada in 1980. Our eldest brother arrived with our mother, leaving everything behind, stepping into a new country with nothing but hope and her unwavering strength. Through every challenge, she taught us everything - not just how to survive, but how to build a meaningful life.
She taught us that we can create our own destiny. That we can create anything we want if we work hard and stay true to ourselves achieving anything we set our hearts on. She showed us the importance of living with honesty and integrity in everything we do, and that no matter what people think or say, we should always do things the right way.
She instilled in us the importance of good manners, teaching us that “manners make a man.” In Vietnamese culture, this means showing deep respect to our elders, practicing humility, speaking politely, and carrying ourselves with grace and thoughtfulness in every situation. She taught us to always greet others warmly, offer help without being asked, and honor those around us - values deeply rooted in our heritage. Her lessons became the foundation of who we are today.
Thanks to her sacrifices and guidance, we have achieved our Canadian dream: sharing authentic Vietnamese cuisine with the people of Canada. Every dish we serve carries her spirit - her hard work, her love, and her belief in a better future.
To everyone reading this: please cherish every moment with your mother, whether she’s having a good day or a tough one. One day we will no longer have the chance to hold her hand, hear her voice, or sit beside her. Create lasting memories now and hold them dear forever.
At Saigon Maxim, all mothers are special to us. Because we came from nothing, and without the love, nurture, and strength of our mother, we would not be here today serving you the food we are so proud of.
Thank you, Mom - for everything.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers out there. You are loved, appreciated, and deeply respected.
With warmth and gratitude,
Saigon Maxim❤️
