Behind the flavours of Choun Kitchen & Co. Meet Chef Aidan.
If you know Aidan, you know he's not one for the spotlight. He's quiet, keeps to himself, and would probably much rather be in the kitchen cooking than have us writing a post about him.
But we think he deserves a little recognition.
Aidan grew up surrounded by the flavours of our Lao heritage, family gatherings, and food that always had a way of bringing everyone together.
His journey in the kitchen began years ago, working alongside his uncle Bobby, learning the recipes and traditions that have made Choun Kitchen what it is today.
And somewhere along the way, he found his own love for creating.
Aidan has always loved experimenting with flavours. Sometimes he'll come up with something completely out of nowhere, start putting ingredients together, and the next thing you know, we're tasting something ridiculously good. It's part of what makes his cooking his own. He knows the flavours he grew up loving, but he's never been afraid to play around with them and see what else he can create.
And while he's never been one to seek recognition, you should see the smile on his face when someone genuinely enjoys something he's made. He absolutely lights up. That's when you realize just how much his cooking means to him.
Today, at 23, he's carrying forward our family's recipes while bringing his own creativity to the table. From the familiar Lao, Thai and Vietnamese dishes our guests have loved for years to a few of his own creations inspired by the flavours he grew up with.
We're proud to have him leading our kitchen, not simply because he's family, but because of the care, creativity and passion he puts into the food he serves.
So next time you're enjoying a meal at Choun, know there's a quiet, talented young man behind those kitchen doors who puts a little piece of himself into what he creates.
And if you love what he's made, tell him. Trust us, it'll make his day.
