Some pubs you visit. Ours, you settle into.

Tucked along Bow Valley Trail with the Three Sisters standing watch, The Georgetown Inn has been serving up proper pub fare in the heart of Canmore for years.

Crispy wings, hearty sandwiches piled high, and of course our award-winning Fish & Chips, best in the Bow Valley for over 15 years running. Pull up a chair, order a pint, and let the mountains do the rest.

Georgetown Inn built its pub around that same mining spirit, right down to the name. πŸ’«

Step inside for a plate of comfort food, a pint at the pub, and a room that feels like it's been waiting for you.

Some places give you a stay. This one gives you a story. ✨

Over the last week, we've seen a significant number of water rescues on the Bow River. With lots of warm weather on the horizon, Alberta Parks and the Town of Canmore are urging everyone to be aware of the risks when recreating in water and to practice sound judgement.

Looking for water safety information? Check out our latest blog: https://bit.ly/4ygIyLQ

Here are the top three trends we're seeing that lead to water rescues:

1. Number one reason affecting water rescues is when those recreating on the water aren’t wearing a life jacket.
🦺 Life jackets save lives - wear a life jacket when in or around any body of water, and make sure it fits. A safe life jacket has a snug and comfortable fit. Air-filled or foam toys like water wings, noodles, or inner tubes are not a replacement for a life jacket.

2. Many response calls involve rafts or water floatation devices that are inexpensive and puncture easily.
🚣 Even under usual conditions, debris from the bottom or sides of the river can poke holes in these rafts. With additional debris from flooding, there is more debris in the water. We recommend people avoid inflatable rafts all together and ensure they are renting or purchasing reputable equipment from a safe and reliable source.

3. Current river conditions following recent flooding have changed the river’s features, including high, fast-moving water.
πŸŠβ€β™‚οΈ We are seeing new and evolving hazards such as altered river channels, submerged obstacles, log jams, and fallen trees in and along waterways. There is gravel where there didn’t used to be, so even users familiar with the terrain can be surprised. The water is still extremely cold, and with the strong current and stream flow, getting to shore can be very challenging.

Our wings come tossed in your choice of Guinness BBQ, Honey Garlic, Hot Sauce, Hot Chili Sriracha, Honey Sriracha, Coarse Salt and Cracked Pepper, Lemon Pepper, Roasted Garlic, or Maple Bacon. Every basket arrives golden and crispy with carrot sticks, celery, and our in-house ranch on the side.
