The Rope Loft The historic Rope Loft, known locally as the Old Wharf, is one of the oldest buildings still in commercial use in Nova Scotia, celebrating over 200 years.

In its time the solid oak building has seen fish, coal, grain and rum and more.

The Rope Loft will be temporarily closed June 28-30 while a film crew uses the building for an exciting project.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as our historic space gets a little time in the spotlight. ✨

Sunrise, sunset, calm waters, sailboats, full moons, and everything in between. No matter how many times we look out over Chester Harbour, it never gets old.
