Hello JTL Chicken Family! As many of you have messaged, yes the repairs to the store have finally started, and we think they should be completed in the next week or so. As for re-opening, we never imagined that it would take THIS long for the repairs to start, and in the 8 months since the sudden accident, our family has been forced to make difficult changes to sustain ourselves and take care of our two young children. We had poured our heart and soul into creating this brand, putting in 16+ hour days, and priding ourselves in being able to offer quality fried chicken, especially to our customers who couldn't eat gluten. After 5 years and surviving through COVID, we thought we were finally on stable ground to expand and grow, but then this happened and we now find ourselves back at square one. We would like to personally thank each and every customer that walked through our doors, for all the kind and amazing words of praise and encouragement that made the long days seem shorter and so, so worth it. But it is with an unbearably heavy heart that we must inform you that JTL Chicken will not be re-opening its doors at the Austin Avenue location. Our family has re-located to the Southern Gulf Islands where I grew up, and we have taken over operations of my family's business here. As we get settled in with this new venture, we hope to open a JTL Chicken shop here. Hopefully one day we will be able to return to the mainland and meet all of our customers again. In the coming weeks, we will have to close our Google business listing, but we will keep our page active to give our followers any updates. Perhaps we might even see some of our customers on the island when we are up and running again :) Once again, to all our customers who are truly now like family and friends, we want to give our deepest gratitude for all your support.
Thank you,
Jae, Teresa, Lucas, and Lily (JTLL)
