SEXY POTATO SAYS WE’RE OPEN /// This potato is no longer with us but before it became fries it told us that we needed to be open on July 1 2026 or we would never see another sexy potato again. This felt like a credible threat from what might have been the only sexy potato oracle in the universe, so we’re open today. There will be no features. Our whole menu is special! There will be no discounts, unless you consider the fact that all prices go up eventually and that buying anything today will likely represent a discount when you look back on it. If you’re not going to eat and drink at our cute little independent restaurant then we highly recommend visiting a different but also cute little independent restaurant. Oh no I’m out of ideas. COOKS LIGHT IS ON TAP /// The homies Land & Sea Brewing Co. have once again honoured us with a beer that bears our name. Did we contribute to the recipe or making of it in any way? No. Levon and his team don’t need our help making delicious beer. It’s a light bodied, crushable domestic style lager made with care and quality ingredients. How did this happen in the first place? It started as a trade - I provided a silly drawing, and they provided a beer that we could call Cooks Light. How many times has this happened? This is the third edition. It’s great and we’re happy to offer it here at the shop until the supply has been exhausted. Can you buy one of the hats from picture? Yes. Can you get Cooks Light in a can if you’re wanting some for future use? Also yes. Will this post ever end? Probably! Are we living in a simulation? I can’t say for sure because I’m just a burger person. Alright? Alright! Have a great night, amigos :)

THE PHONES ARE WORKING /// Big thanks to our telecom overlords for letting us have our phone service back. We were beginning to worry that they didn’t care at all. That couldn’t possibly be true, right? They care. Deeply. Why else would they use fluffy and cute animals in their advertisements? Anywho - barring a massive change in our personal finances we will continue to be a restaurant and forgo the pursuit of our very own bespoke telecommunications business. We’re here 11:30-9:00, Wednesday-Sunday. We look forward to hearing your lovely voices on the telephone during those hours but not before or after those hours because we transform into amorphous non verbal goo when we’re not doing restaurant things. HELLO OLD FRIEND /// I’ve had a lot of fun doing silly drawings but this one probably makes me chuckle the most. It’s an incarcerated ramekin of mayonnaise. There’s a possibility it has never been thought of, let alone illustrated and then printed on a t-shirt. Artificial Intelligence? Nope! Just an iPad and my weird little brain. WE CAN’T TALK ON THE PHONE RIGHT NOW /// Our phone is shut off for some really complicated but foolish reasons. That means you can place orders in person or through the computer. We really don’t like this. It is bad. It should be fixed by tomorrow but we will never ever be able to experience today again. ON A SUNDAY /// We are here on Sundays, just like we used to be. We really enjoyed having Sundays off during the shoulder seasons so we’re probably going to do that again. That’s not important at the moment. What is important, however, is that you can come here on Sundays till at least the fall. We’re here! We have food! We have beer! Open till 9, Wednesday-Sunday for time being. Apologies to Tuesday and the people who like coming here on Tuesday. We’ll get that fixed soon enough :)

WE MADE THIS FOR YOU /// So our plans needed to be adjusted temporarily because some things are more important than cheeseburgers. Rather than bludgeon ourselves with the blunt instrument of additional manual labour, we’ll hold onto a 5 day schedule until we’re at full strength. In the meantime, we’ll be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and open 11:30-9:00 every other day of the week. We will let you all know when we’re adding the Tuesday to the rotation, but for now this is how it be. Thanks for your patience, unconditional love, and understanding. Byeeeeeeee!

HEY YOU /// Yeah! You! Today is Monday and we’re closed because it’s Monday. However, we’re going to be closed tomorrow (Tuesday May 19th) to recover after a busy weekend. We’ll then be back to normal on Wednesday and Thursday (11:30-8:00). On Friday we’re going to adjust to our “summer hours”, extending operations by one full hour. That means we’ll be open until 9pm until we decide that it’s not summer any more. That’s not all. There’s still more information. Many people have been mad at us for closing on Sundays. We don’t like that feeling. Therefore, we’ll be open on Sundays beginning Sunday May 24th. Barring any strangeness, we’ll be holding these hours till the beginning of October. 1130-900, every day that isn’t Monday. Thank you for reading this. OOOOOPS ALL BRASSNECK /// Our fair province has a number of truly great breweries. We have a mere four taps to showcase them, and tend to give most of our love and attention to a few. are my favourite of all. Are they the best? I’m not sure that’s really a thing anyone should really care about too deeply. What I do care about is that they’ve had me convinced since day one that THEY’RE trying THEIR best. They have never said as much with words or anything like that, it just ends up being obvious once it gets in the glass. To me it’s clear, obvious, and something I admire. I would bet actual dollars that the folks involved would rather not be gushed about in this way but they can’t stop me because I’m here and they’re all the way over in the big city. The good news is that you don’t have to go there and see them to have an opportunity to try a bunch of their stuff - you can come here. It’s way faster than commuting to Vancouver. Also? You don’t even need to be hungry. It’s ok to just sit in the sun and have a beer. It’s possible that you may eventually become hungry and we can help with that too, but it’s not mandated. Other breweries we carry are also greatly and loved, too. It’s not a contest. Brassneck is special to me, though, and that’s why we accidentally have four of their beers on tap right now. That’s it!
