Aviation theme cookies for an Air Canada crew. When I first finished this order it was lacking a wow factor. Until I added the “stitching” effect by scratching the stitched edge and letters using my scribe then I drybrushed a light grey to accentuate the “thread”. It was time consuming but so worth it. Love the way they turned out.

How cute are these “Paint Your Own” sugar cookies??? If you’re interested in adding some to your kiddo’s Easter baskets, please message me. I will take orders until Thursday morning 9am to give me enough time to make them before I go flying on Saturday. They will be wrapped individually. Each cookie will come with its own paintbrush and palette. $5 per cookie. Private messages are preferred. Pick up in Didsbury.

I made this set for a friend of mine who’s son is turning 18 and very involved in the hockey world. 4 years ago she was the very first person to pay for my cookies. I didn’t feel like they were good enough but she pushed just enough to make me feel like I should give it a try. Today my skills have improved tremendously and I owe it to for giving me that boost of confidence.

It should be mentioned that the cookie made with one continuous line is a technique called “roundhouse”. Oddly, it is simple and yet it wasn’t easy. Maybe because the design was a little complex. But I absolutely love it!!

I’m a day late posting these. Whether you celebrated St-Patrick’s Day or not, I Hope you had a great day and May got to sn**ch one those sugar cookies at Vintage Cafe Bar this week. I tried a new technique to flood the cookies, where you dip them instead of flooding them with a pipeless bag. It wasn’t as easy as I thought and I’m embarrassed to even talk about the mess in my kitchen afterwards. 🤦‍♀️ But hey, I tried something new, I went out of my comfort zone. That’s a win.
