1st Biergarten in Louisiana!

The Hub City was missing a puzzle piece that brings more heart to the heart of the Downtown Lafayette. Acadiana needed a universal outdoor space where a yoga, fitness or art classes can take place in the early morning hours. A place & space where visitors, tourists and locals can grab food & beverages while finding a unique local art piece or handmade treasure during a lunch or after-hours stroll. An intimate outdoor venue for musicians, performance artists, music lovers & families where all can enjoy fun & fulfilling diverse activities together on a daily basis or just on weekends during 'Family Fun' days. After listening to ideas and feedback from downtown & the entire Acadiana area, The Wurst Biergarten concept came to life. The Wurst is situated on a prime piece of property that had lain dormant for far too long... 537 Jefferson St. Lafayette is a city that takes great pride in its culture and vitality. This project has contributed to accelerating & accentuating the vibrancy we all want & have worked years to achieve. With new shops, bars, and restaurants opening downtown, the area still needed a destination that is inviting to families and all, including our beloved pets. The Wurst, German for sausage, will be the friendliest dog friendly place in Acadiana. The Wurst Biergarten is a catered park and year-round open-air market. It serves as a multi-functional specialty event facility located in the heart of Downtown Lafayette, adjacent and immediately accessible to the parking garage..Parc au Centre. This family-friendly biergarten & catered park is open 7 days a week, depending on weather. A 3,500 square foot deck with lots of seating will surround a fully functional but small kitchen. The Wurst is now home to authentic Jamaican food via Di Jerk Stop w/ a menu having food options for all ages, plus we regularly showcase other Acadiana favorites @ our Pop Up Chef events! We have a giant beer selection with over 30 FRESH beers on tap plus ciders, non-alcoholic options/beers and coffees plus wine and more! The Wurst Biergarten will always have something new & creative for children and adults to eat and do. There is also a parc next door where kids can run around. It is usually locked up but accessible from the Wurst after 7pm and on the weekends. The biergarten leads into a large covered tent park space that has cypress vendor stalls covered with awnings to host local and national vendors. Artists, craftspeople, antique vendors, clothing boutiques, business owners & many more who are able to rent vendor stalls for showcasing & selling their wares. In addition to the market, the biergarten will feature a stage for live entertainment of just about every type imaginable. The parc next door also has a lot of music and a monthly art market. With its synergistic hybrid sustainable business model, the Wurst Biergarten has brought vibrancy and new life to the downtown area for locals and visitors daily, as well as provide a beautiful space to give back to the community. The Wurst Biergarten also focuses on supporting and hosting non-profit fundraising events, in addition to promoting the creative arts and bringing friends and families together.

The Wurst Art Market is NOW the Wurst Biergarten Public Market.

On any given day you may see arts, crafts, plants, produce, prepared foods, preserves, frozen goods, fresh made & baked items or maybe even a local writer or non-profit! Our Public Market is officially any day & every day the market is open but primarily functions on Friday, Saturday & Sunday; which is when we host our Farmer’s Market. The market is FREE except on Artwalks and select special events downtown. We will also link our page to the pages of those who vend @ our market.
