Since we opened our doors in 2015, the Garafraxa Café has became everything we hoped to achieve and more – a place to have coffee or a drink, visit with friends, listen to live music or watch an event.

But COVID hit our business and our family hard and we've been forced to keep closed for these last few years. We’re now sad to announce that due to these personal and medical challenges, we have decided to sell the Garafraxa Café. If anyone is interested in embarking on a rewarding journey as the new owners of the café, we are selling, in addition to the business and equipment, the building which is in a prime location on Durham's main street and includes a 3-bedroom apartment on the second floor which can easily be separated into a one-bedroom apartment and a business space (perfect for a yoga, exercise or dance studio) in the front. Feel free to message us and we would be happy to discuss it with you.

We also want to say a sincere thank you to each and every one of you who have supported us since we first started serving you.

Kevin's mother's great-great-grandmother Honora Morrison was born 1791 in Clonmel, County Tipperary. His father's great-great-grandmother Isabella Smyth was born 1806 in Dublin. Which makes Kevin 1/16th Irish (we suspect this will be slightly higher later on today after drinking a few Guinness and Jamesons.)

Our show for Friday February 28 is postponed due to the weather. I think everybody will now be ready get out and see 'Two Crows For Comfort" for what should be an excellent concert Saturday February 29.

West Grey remains under a significant weather event. There are many closures throughout West Grey and Grey County, including the West Grey administration building. Residents are advised to reduce travel on roads and sidewalks.

Our Music Jam is cancelled for Thursday February 27. Still hoping for a great weekend of music with 'Andrew Wilson' here Friday February 28 and 'Two Crows For Comfort" here Saturday February 29.

Due to poor weather conditions, all municipal facilities have closed. This includes West Grey arenas, and the municipal administration building.
