Hey Sherwood Park we’re back and so excited to serve you again! 🇬🇷

We’re currently open for lunch takeout, catering, and all your take-home Greek favourites. From fresh souvlaki and house-made dips to our signature sauces, everything is made from scratch.

It’s still a bit of a work in progress, but Dean’s in the kitchen cooking up lunch today, and we’re ready for you.

Today we picked up Christmas cookies from . This is one of my favourite local spots in Riverdale . If you haven’t been, put it on your list. They are amazing for brunch, lunch or coffee, and are in one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods in our city. Celebrate the river valley and and please continue to as much as you can this holiday season! 🎄

One last look around.
Thanks for an amazing weekend Sherwood Park! We definitely went out with a bang 💥. To all our customers who drove in from Edmonton and surrounding area, thank you. It was a weekend we will never forget ❤️
We are sad to announce the permanent closure of our Sherwood Park store. We are so grateful for the outpouring of community support this past week. In the future, we will still be available for catering; weddings, baptisms, birthdays and any other celebration when it is safe to do so again 😷🤞🏼.
Our downtown location will remain open Monday - Friday 10:30 am - 3:00 pm in Edmonton City Centre.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout the last few days and to those who have supported us over the years. ❤️ We have truly enjoyed our time in this amazing community and encourage you to businesses whenever you can. We wanted to give a shout out to some of our personal favourites as we celebrate our last day in businesses. Whether you’re starting your Christmas shopping, or looking for a great place to grab a coffee or lunch, keep some of these amazing businesses in mind! They are some of the best people we have come to know and wish them much love and continued success ✌🏼.

As we look back on these past couple of years in business, we cannot express in words how grateful and humbled we have been by all the amazing people who have worked with us. These people were the heart and soul of Urban Greek. They showed up, they cared about the food; about the people and about what we were trying create for our customers every time they walked through the door. To us, our staff are like family. Of all the things we will miss, saying good bye this crew will by far be the hardest.
Nikko, these next two days are for you my friend ❤️

Sherwood Park... it’s been a slice 💔
We started Urban Greek 7 years ago in downtown Edmonton. We had been running a small food court space called Souvlaki Express since 2008, until one day we were told our humble food court spot was slated to become a parkade. We could either become a franchise and move, or call it quits. We refused accept either option. As a result, Urban Greek was born. A new space and revamped menu came to fruition, blending the 🇬🇷 classics, with what would soon become new favourites; Donair Salad anyone?🤤🙌🏼
Fast forward to 2018. Our downtown location was well received and we were busy! Our family made the decision to move to Sherwood Park. The dream to run our business close to home, to become a valuable member of our community became a reality and Urban Greek Sherwood Park was born. The husband ran the Sherwood Park location and the wife ran downtown; divide and conquer. The sacrifice was real, but we loved the restaurants, the food, the customers we had the privilege of serving, and most of all, our staff; the people who supported us through and through. They kept us afloat (and married 😉)
Things were running smoothly until March 2020. Welcome the antagonist, Covid-19. The Covid-19 pandemic shook us to our core. Our sales plummeted. Our once strong and steady staff became uncertain and scared to come to work. Fear began to rule our once thriving business. Again, this was not something we would accept. We were determined to keep our businesses afloat, to keep our staff employed and our customers satisfied. The husband took another job out of town and the wife took a second job closer to home. We wanted to keep the restaurant doors open and our deserving staff employed as long as possible...until we couldn’t.
Until we just can’t.
We are saddened to announce the permanent closing of our Sherwood Park location. Saturday, November 28, 2020 will be our last day in operation. The husband and wife will be there all weekend from 4-close, so come by to say hello and enjoy one last meal at Urban Greek Sherwood Park. We look forward to seeing you and can’t thank you enough for all the support you’ve given us.
