Let's get the hard stuff over first: We are closing up shop!
Believe me, this wasn't a decision I made quickly or wanted to even really make. There are two sides to this decision so I wanted to inform everyone of what has led up to the closure of Genuineo Coffee Co. (Skip to the end if you're just looking for a deal!)
On the supply side-- there have been issues. We were not able to secure our beloved 'Vixen' for the holiday season. Recently we haven't been able to obtain a steady supply of most beans, including non-flavoured roasts! I have researched the cost of purchasing roasting and flavouring equipment but it's just not feasible at this time. Additionally, I have researched alternate suppliers but profit margins (that are already slim) would be affected negatively. At the end of the day, a business must make a profit to be successful, and switching suppliers would have hindered that growth.
On a personal side-- I have been a busy bee. It takes a lot to own a brand. The product selection, vision, branding, late-night photoshoots, dropping off packages/deliveries, partnerships, social media, answering emails, and keeping on top of trends-- it can get exhausting. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE what I've created, I have no regrets. I work full-time, and have three part-time jobs (I'm a bit of a workaholic). I have been offered opportunities that still make me pinch myself. I don't like to do anything half-assed and I'm only human with 24 hours in a day. I want to be sure that I can offer 100% of myself to new business ventures.
