Today marks 5 years of the Rustic Roadside Restaraunt in beautiful Gilmour!
Sitting here trying to put the last 5 years into words feels almost impossible!
Who buys a restaraunt during COVID ? We did!
We uprooted 2 homes moved north on a wing and prayer and somehow built the Rustic through chaos and stress and a whole lot of grit so I could chase my dream thank you to my husband, Terry for your patience and my crazy never-ending ideas and for believing in me
This journey has been emotional, exhausting and rewarding and beautiful all at once as I prepare to celebrate 47 years in the hospitality business this June, I can honestly say I’ve never been more happy or more grateful
We’ve watched babies come through the doors in bellies , car seats and now we’re running around as busy toddlers with huge personalities and knowing where the cookie stash is watching these children grow and them calling me aunt Mag is one of the greatest gifts
Our are small loyal, hard-working crew thank you for pouring your hearts into this place every single day through long shifts busy weekends broken machines and with endless dishes you showed up with strength loyalty and heart and help build the Rustic into what it today!
Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed and is appreciated. Thank you.
And to our customers, many of you stop being “customers“ a long time ago, you became friends, neighbours and a part of our lives. You have celebrated with us, cried with us, checked in on us and offer helping hands whenever we needed them.
In the world that can sometimes feel rushed and disconnected. This community has reminded me of what kindness and loyalty truly looks like. Thank you for being a part of our journey for the past five years. We are deeply grateful for your support and friendship.
Along the way, we have lost some beautiful souls who are a big part of the Rustic and community. They are deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
From the bottom of my heart thank you to everyone who supported us these past five years here’s to many more memories, meals laughs, and friendships to come
Blessed and Grateful
Maggie
