As of immediately, I am no longer delivering for Godfather’s directly. Supposedly, there was a single complaint about a delivery charge to West Lorne and they have decided to cut delivery pay rates across the board to levels that are far worse than when I started with them in 2020.

Godfather’s has implemented NUMEROUS price increases for their food due to inflation as well as minimum wage increases yet they expect me to deliver for FAR less than minimum wage. For instance, they are only willing to pay $12 for a delivery to Rodney. By the time I pick up the order and deliver round trip, it takes about an hour which pays me FAR less than minimum wage and doesn’t even begin to account for gas or mileage on my vehicle.

I have a feeling they will have a VERY difficult time finding a new driver at the rates they want to pay.

We are expanding our ride share service hours UNOFFICIALLY to accommodate bar and special event hours. If you need a ride after 11pm, give us a shout! We would rather provide you with a ride than have you drive while intoxicated. We will do what we can, however we cannot absolutely guarantee availability after hours. Ideally, call us before 11pm to pre-arrange!

ADVOCATING FOR WORKERS AT GODFATHER'S!!!

On Saturday, August 20th, I will match all tips in-store at Godfather's up to $50! Please show your appreciation for the hardworking people making your pizzas everyday at Godfather's, I will explain further below. Please LIKE and SHARE this post to spread the news...I realize our page is very new so our reach will be limited but every little bit will help!

Workers at Godfather's make minimum wage. Some are students and some work there "full time". Full time at Godfather's is generally about 32 hours per week but mostly less than 32. Oftentimes, particularly when it's busy in the store, they are unable to take any time for breaks or lunch.

A tip option has been unavailable via the credit/debit machine in-store for as long as I can remember. Godfather's recently added the option to order online and initially there was a tip option, but this option has now been removed.

People there are either simply trying to make ends meet or to have some spending money as a teenager or to save money for post-secondary education. They also want to be able to work with dignity and respect. There is some tendency to describe many workers as unwilling to work or put effort into their jobs these days. I think the real issue is that they are missing one, or more, of the characteristics of the job listed above and workers are now more likely to advocate for themselves. This is likely the reason for the high amount of turnover at many businesses and in many industries.

All I am asking is next time you go into Godfather's to pick up your order, PLEASE consider bringing some spare change (like a Toonie) and dropping it off as a tip! That's like a SINGLE coffee! These people just want to make ends meet, let's do our part to help and hopefully this can continue beyond simply a single Saturday.

We can set up regular grocery deliveries from No Frills and/or Foodland here in Glencoe to anywhere within our delivery area. We're pretty pro at using Flipp so we will even price match for you at No Frills! 😁
