With regard to Mayor Dennis Greene's comments on CBC Radio this morning, I've just spoken with him, and he reiterated that his words were actually misconstrued. Grand Manan is not closed to tourism, and the Surfside Motel is open to businesspeople, workers and visitors. We are adhering to very specific protocol, for the safety of our guests and employees, including contactless check-in and check-out. It is with heavy hearts that we bid farewell for now to our much-loved friend and assistant manager, Scott. Words can't describe what he means to us, all that he's done for us, and how much we love him and miss him. A special thank you to all of our regulars and extended family of the Surfside who have called and messaged to express condolences.
