Behind Every Plate Is a Team ❤️

Tonight, we took this photo on our last day before summer break.

A small restaurant is never built by one person.

It is built by cooks, prep staff, dishwashers, cashiers, family members, and everyone willing to show up day after day and do the work that most people never see.

Tonight, we are proud of what this team has accomplished together, and we are grateful for every customer who made it possible.

Thank you for supporting us throughout another season.

Every order, every visit, every recommendation, and every kind word has helped keep our doors open and our team moving forward.

Tomorrow, many of us will be boarding planes and heading home to Thailand.

For the next two months, we’ll become customers instead of cooks.

We’ll visit the towns where we grew up, spend time with family, eat at small local restaurants, reconnect with the flavours we grew up with, and gather inspiration along the way.

When we return in August, we’ll bring a little piece of those memories back with us.

The flavours.
The stories.
The inspiration.

All to share with our customers here in Canada once again.

Nahathai’s Kitchen will be closed from June 21 to August 19, 2026 for our annual summer break.

We will reopen on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

We wish all of our customers a wonderful summer filled with happiness, good health, laughter, and beautiful memories.

Thank you for being part of our journey.

❤️ See you on August 20.

Stories from the Front of the House ❤️

16/June/2026

Today, something happened that touched our hearts. A customer placed a pickup order this evening.

When we processed the payment, we noticed an unusually generous tip.

Thinking there might have been a mistake, we called him right away to make sure.

His answer was simple:

“No, I meant to do that.”

For a moment, we were speechless.

What made this even more special is that tips at our restaurant are shared among the entire team at the end of each day.

One act of kindness from one customer became a smile for everyone working that shift.

As a small family-run restaurant, moments like this mean more than we can put into words.

Running a restaurant isn’t always easy, and sometimes we wonder whether people notice the effort that goes into every meal, every phone call, every order, and every long day.

Then something like this happens.

Sometimes people don’t tell you that you’re doing a good job. They just find their own way to show you.

To Bob, thank you for your kindness, your support, and for making our day. ❤️

Food brings people together. Kindness keeps them close.

Today’s Story from the Front of the House ❤️
Dine in 519

At lunchtime today, two ladies walked into Nahathai’s Kitchen for the very first time.

Then they told me something that made my day—they had discovered our restaurant through a post by Dine In 519.

I thanked them warmly, brought them some water and menus, and let them know I would be back shortly to take their order.

While they were looking over the menu, I delivered food to a nearby table of regular customers: Fresh Shrimp Rolls and Holy Basil Stir-Fried Ground Pork.

Before I even had a chance to introduce some of our “must-try” dishes, our regular customers started sharing their own favorites with the new guests. Soon, a friendly conversation began between the two tables, with me happily adding a few recommendations along the way.

Later, I learned their names were Sandy and Kelly.

For lunch, they chose our Fresh Garlic House Stir Fry (mild spicy) and our Northern Larb served with jasmine rice. Although Northern Larb has a little built-in heat, they enjoyed every bite.

By the end of their meal, they were smiling, happy, and ready to take more food home. They ordered Fresh Shrimp Rolls, Basil Beef Spring Rolls, and Shrimp Avocado Spring Rolls to enjoy later.

Before leaving, Sandy and Kelly told us they plan to come back again before we close for our summer break next week.

We took a photo together, shared a few laughs, and I promised them I would tag Dine In 519—because they are big fans and loyal followers of Dine In 519.

Once again, we would like to thank Dine In 519 for helping us connect with wonderful new customers like Sandy and Kelly.

Sometimes, complete strangers walk into a restaurant and leave feeling like part of the community.

And that was today’s story from the front of the house.

Food brings people together.

Kindness keeps them close. ❤️

❤️ Thank you, Sandy and Kelly.
❤️ Thank you, Dine In 519.
❤️ And thank you to everyone who supports local restaurants.

One of my favorite Thai comfort meals—and it’s surprisingly simple to make.

For the pork, I used skinless pork belly and marinated it with only one ingredient: Mega Chef Premium Fish Sauce (Brown Label).

That’s it.

Let it marinate for about 30–60 minutes, then deep-fry until golden brown and crispy.

For the dipping sauce, I roasted tomatoes and chilies until lightly charred, then blended them with fresh lime juice, a pinch of salt, and a few cilantro leaves for extra aroma.

Serve with steamed jasmine rice and plenty of fresh vegetables.

One thing I love about Thai home cooking is that it doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes a few good ingredients are all you need.

Simple food.

Fresh ingredients.

A delicious meal shared with family after a long day.

If you decide to give it a try, I’d love to hear how it turns out. 😊🇹🇭❤️

This was dinner at home tonight. ❤️

Nothing fancy.

Just deep-fried pork belly, marinated with only one ingredient: premium fish sauce.

For this dish, I used Mega Chef Fish Sauce (Brown Label), one of my favorite fish sauces for cooking at home. The flavor is clean, well-balanced, and perfect for simple recipes like this.

Served with steamed jasmine rice, a roasted tomato and chili dip, and plenty of fresh vegetables.

The baby spinach and mini romaine lettuce came from .farm, a local organic farm that we love supporting. 🌱

In fact, some of the spinach we’re serving at Nahathai’s Kitchen this week also comes from their farm.

One thing I love about Thai cooking is that great food doesn’t always require a long list of ingredients. Sometimes, quality ingredients speak for themselves.

Simple food.
Fresh ingredients.
A grateful heart.

Proud Mom ❤️

The sign above us carries her name.
Years ago, I named my restaurant after my daughter.❤️

Today, standing beside her, I'm reminded that the greatest thing I've built isn't the business—it's my family.❤️
