✅ 2 years of experience cooking at an Asian restaurant is required. References required.

1) Prepare ingredients (ex. chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.).
2) Completes hot meal preparation by following recipes in a timely manner.
3) Works with kitchen staff to ensure continuous and fast flow of order completion.
4) Maintains composure during high-traffic hours.
5) Adheres to proper food handling and sanitation.

Wok Around Chinese Food is looking for a Cook to join our small family owned restaurant. We have been serving Chinese Canadian dishes to our customers in the Hamilton/Stoney Creek Area for nearly 30 years.

Hours of Work: Sun, Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, and Sun including holidays; 3PM-10PM. We are closed on Tuesdays.

Responsibilities:
Preparing ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
Cooking individual dishes and foods
Keeping a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensuring all food and other items are stored properly
Adhere to all cleanliness and sanitation practices, including maintaining workstations in an orderly manner

What we are looking for in a successful candidate:

Proven years of experience in a fast paced kitchen setting is required
Experience in Asian Cuisine is an asset but not required
Good knife skills
Excellent communication skills, and great ability to get along with others and pay attention to detail in a busy environment
Organization and a strong focus and commitment to quality
Strong work ethic - hard working and reliable
Follow direction and complete tasks in a timely manner, as well as accept and perform additional tasks as required for optimal performance of the restaurant
Must have valid Food Handlers Certificate
