Unfortunately Bower’s recovery has not been smooth and we are back in Ottawa at the Capital City Emergency Hospital. An infection developed in between the skin flap and his leg. This in turn then developed into a high fever, so he stopped eating and drinking.
Currently he is on IV, antibiotics and had a drain inserted to remove excess fluid.
Please note that until I can get him back up and being the goofy puppy we all know and love, I will not be taking on any orders this month. Please send some positive thoughts his way.

I always enjoy supporting Algonquin Grace Hospice in Huntsville and the Purple Boot campaign, in two ways; providing purple hiking boot decorated sugar cookies for the media launch and attending the Hike for Hospice event with cookies for all the hikers.
This year I was really surprised when the launch kick off was covered by CTV News Barrie, and there were my cookies right beside the purple tulips.

Alex asked me to create a Billie Eilish cake for her birthday, and judging by her reaction when I dropped it off, I did exactly what she had envisioned; death by chocolate cake, filled and iced with Peppermint Buttercream coloured coal black. Crushed peppermint candy canes were sprinkled around the shell boarders top and bottom.
Making my customers so happy is what baking is all about.

My boy Bower has taught me so much these past 11 years; unquestionable loyalty, empathy, enjoyment of small but important victories, and most importantly never giving up. He has been through so much; elbow replacement, becoming deaf at an early age, multiple surgeries for fatty lumps, infected hair follicles that won’t heal, and now cancer .

Please say a prayer for Bower as we head off to Kanata, to see the Capitol City Specialty Hospital and their oncology team.
