With a super heavy heart we are making this post to announce we are closing the restaurant and won't be operating this summer.

This has been such a hard decision for Bryce + I to come to, but it is one that is necessary for us personally more than anything. The industry we have been brought up in as chefs makes you believe you should be ready + more than willing to give up anything and everything to make your dream work. Birthdays, holidays, weekends, sleep, mental health, whatever it may be; be ready to sacrifice it all as long as you keep "living the dream".. and it's something we fully bought into. With the perspective of the pandemic and the struggles we've personally faced while operating the restaurant, it's something we've come to realize that even though we are living our dreams.. our dreams are not sustainable and we can't do much to change the expectations that running a restaurant entails.

With all that being said we are SO FREAKING GRATEFUL to have had this opportunity.. and to have been supported in this undertaking. We want to thank all our guests, suppliers and staff who without we wouldn't have made it through 4 summers and a global pandemic. Especially our loyal + dedicated staff, who we will never be able to thank enough for taking the time to treat our dream like their own, showing up and doing their best to make it work day in and day out, whether for one summer or multiple.

We really want to double down on how truly grateful we are to everyone we have crossed paths with on this journey, a journey that is ever changing and is still ongoing. This isn't the end for us on Fogo island, this island is our home and has been before we opened the restaurant and we can't see a future for ourselves anywhere else. We can just no longer afford to take on the personal costs of entrepreneurship. Despite our love for what we do, love can't pay the bills.

With all that being said, this isn't a goodbye.. it's a see you later 💖

Happy Tuesday y'all!

Now I cannot lie making this post is getting me a little weepy as we are upon our FINAL DAYS OF SERVICE for the season 🥲

We had our last evening @ scoff on Saturday which also had me all up in my feelings, feeling so bittersweet seeing familiar + newly familiar faces in the dining room enjoying themselves, knowing it will all to soon be drawing to a close for the season. And 's note (last pic) in our service booklet was the heartfelt cherry on top 🍒

Big big thank yous to everyone who visited us this summer (and previous summers too DUH), we've had such a wonderful time serving you all our food + are so excited for what the future summers will bring !!

Good day folks! Another Friday is upon us..

And soon another Saturday will be upon us, and this Saturday is a very special one because it is our LAST EVENING @ SCOFF OF THE YEAR!!! 🔥😬✨💪🥲🥲

I just wanted to take this moment/post/opportunity to thank each + every person who attended one of these evenings throughout the summer. They've been such a hoot to organize, execute + be a part of, we've had hiccups here and there which comes with trying anything new but omg they've been so rewarding to our little culinary + hospitality driven souls.

Anyways, after this Saturday we are also heading into our LAST WEEK OF SERVICE for the season 🥲🥲 we will be closing up shop after September 30th which will be our last service. We do have our sights set on organizing a few pop-ups throughout the fall + winter so if you want us to come where you're to TELL US and we may be able to find a place to hang our hats for a few days.

Ok I'm almost done. This season has been wonderful, I don't have enough words in my brain or heart to be able to express the gratitude I've felt this summer.. it's so nice seeing things get kind of back to normal. We're not out of the woods yet though, so keep being safe, responsible, get vaccinated, wear your mask + do your part and we'll all get through this someday 🤷‍♀️

Back at it again with this infograph !!

As of midnight last night masks are mandatory in indoor public spaces in NL. Which means in the restaurant, once again, you will need to have your mask on upon entry and at anytime moving around the room. We're all pretty used to it at this point, and it's one of those better safe than sorry situations where something so simple can make a big impact on our epidemiological well being (I've learned too many new big words this year, sorry lol) it's the least we can do y'all !!

So if you're coming to the evening @ scoff tonight bring YOUR APPETITE + YOUR MASK !! We'll see you all at 5:30 ✨

Very much in anticipation of tomorrow's evening @ scoff I figured I'd post a pic from last week!

We are booked for the evening @ scoff experience tomorrow BUT if you're in the area and are wanting a taste of what we've got, we have room for tables this evening and our regular a la carte menu is full of tasty options!! ✨

So so SO folks!!

The seasons are changing which means everything else must change along with it, and WITH THAT I've been throwing some new cocktail ideas around in ye olde noggin to add to the list to accentuate the fall *vibes* and compliment some less-than-ideal weather conditions some days.

SO insert the Fall Piña, My Cherry Amour and It's Cobblerin' Thyme !! I am super excited about all 3 of these drinks, I could pick favorites if you really wanted to know but they are all SO TASTY + SO SPECIAL to me and I'd be delighted to make one for you ! 💃🍻

Another Saturday has passed, and another tasting menu is in the books for this summer. ✨

AND I've been trialing a new playlist I made over the past couple days, and it's so so nice (in my humble opinion, I'm pretty obsessed with it's vibes). One of my favorite things is putting playlists together that I think will play deliciously in the dining room, and I think this one will be in regular rotation. If you want to listen along I've added a slide of this new playlist's name and all the other restaurants' ones are public on my Spotify account (some are still works in progress, and some are my personal listenings so my apologies in advance lol)

So! The power is out and I am very thankful someone put on a pot of coffee before it went out.

Because of this I will not be able to get into my usual routine of calling everyone back + answering the phone for reservations for this evening. If you can't get in touch by phone SEND ME AN EMAIL, [email protected] to book a table for tonight/tomorrow or Saturday! If you don't have a reso I cannot guarantee a table will be available.

Hello hello everyone! Happy Tuesday ✨

Here are some food photos to get you through the day from our evening @ scoff experience this past Saturday! Many fine folks were in the house for this one and it was so lovely seeing familiar faces on the go as well. We had some super tasty dishes on the go.. pictured; smoked cod rillette on a touton, followed by a shaved zucchini + green tomato salad with duck confit, alongside a salad of shredded romaine with pork belly, snow crab + green goddess.. and the main event was a roasted new york strip with all the fixins + blueberry beef jus 😍

We only have a few more of these evenings left for the season, the last one will be September 25th so if you want to be a part of one don't delay, they fill up quick!

We're back at it for the week, our hours are a bit different but we will still be open Tuesday - Friday for our a la carte menu, from 5-9 🙌🙌 see you soon!
