💥😻 New Cats Arriving Soon 🎉😻

A very special group of cats will soon be arriving in the lounge with a story unlike anything we've experienced.

We were contacted by a rescue in Qatar facing a frightening situation. While chaos is unfolding around them, the attendants have been staying behind to care for the cats rather than seek shelter and safety themselves. When they asked for help, we couldn't turn away.

Soon, some absolutely beautiful kitties will begin a new chapter at Catelowna where they'll finally get the safety, love and forever home they deserve. ❤️

🚗 Ride Needed for One Very Dramatic Air Scrubber 🚗

We need to get an air scrubber from Lumby to Kelowna this week. If anyone happens to be making the trip and has room for a largish, dusty diva, we would be forever grateful. 😹

Also… can we just say this community is absolutely incredible. Every time we need help, the Catelowna family shows up in the best ways possible. Thank you for being part of this wonderfully weird little village we’ve built together. ❤️

UPDATE: 🚨 EMERGENCY IN THE CAT LOUNGE - NOT CAT RELATED🚨
It was kinda fixed over the weekend - thank you Graeme and the guest yday that said it need some WD40 on the bearings. Today - completely not workings. something has seized? So, anyone that offered help - we still need you!

Our air scrubber has officially clocked out. After a few days of dramatic squeaking it finally gave up completely this morning. 😭

🚨 NEW CAT ALERT 🚨

Last week we welcomed EIGHT new cats into the lounge and while some are still settling in and bravely peeking out from their hiding spots, the confident kids started getting adoption enquiries almost immediately. Apparently some cats don’t even need a full business day before becoming heartthrobs. 😹

Still available:

🖤 Lucas — our silly little CH (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) boy who is pure sweetness wrapped in wobbles. His greatest talent? Falling asleep with his head resting on literally anything he can find.

🤍 Olivia — affectionate lap cat extraordinaire and best friend material for both humans and fellow felines. The ultimate companion cat.

✨ Bernadette & Beverly — the supermodels of the lounge. Elegant, graceful, affectionate, and honestly the kind of cats people dream about finding.

👀 Finnigan — mysterious in nature and keeping everyone guessing because you’re never entirely sure which direction he’s looking in… but one thing is certain: this handsome boy absolutely LOVES laps.

A rescue in Qatar reached out in an unimaginable life-or-death situation. Daily missile threats. Caretakers tending to cats before running for shelter themselves. We simply couldn’t say no.

So yes, we paused local intake briefly to help.

Two weeks ago we drove down to Seattle airport to bring these cats to safety, and they should be ready for the lounge next week. Gorgeous cats with phenomenal personalities — lots of single ladies and eligible bachelors looking for forever homes. 💕

Stay tuned. The next chapter is going to be a big one. 🐾

Miley was tragically separated from her beloved boyfriend Smokie today after the office door was closed. Witnesses say she immediately began mourning as though he had been sent off to war, never to return. Their love torn apart by a cruel barrier. She pressed her tiny face against the door, crying out for her lost love while Smokie continued existing peacefully on the other side, unaware of the devastation unfolding. Please keep Miley in your thoughts as she navigates this incredibly difficult chapter…

Anyyywayyys… Miley has officially been at Catelowna for over 1 year, and is still waiting for her forever home. Miley would love a home with a big, handsome Tom cat. She likes her men long haired, but she’d settle for a short haired kitty too. Miley can be timid towards new and loud things, so she would do best in a home without kids or dogs. In a perfect world, she would be adopted with her boyfriend smokie and his sister Chynna, but she would be able to adapt to a life without them, so long as she has a boy cat to dote on. Miley is sososo sweet, shows her affection by giving you slow blinks, squinty eyes and silent meows. She’s still warming up to being picked up, but we think she could be a lap cat one day, provided you’re patient with her too! And once you pet her, ooohh boy it’s over for you. Her fur is soft like velvet, or maybe like a chinchilla! She loves chin and neck scratches, and to lean against you when you’re petting her. Could Miley be the girl for you??

Did you hear?!! we have new cats settling into Catelowna 🫶 and YES there are kittens involved!!

Everybody’s been adjusting super well!! Including Pinesol who is… definitely here! She communicates exclusively tongues I guess?? Tiny little freak beast. We love her deeply. 💖

Every cat adopted through us is spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, SNAP tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and treated for ear mites before going home. What we don’t charge for in the adoption fee, and instead cover the costs ourselves, includes: transport, vet trips, daily care, enrichment, housing, and often additional necessary medical costs. Rescue is expensive! We spend thousands every month making sure these cats are cared for and set up for success.

Your adoption fee supports so much more than just the cat you take home… it supports their entire second chance. 🫶🐈‍⬛🐈
