In Loving Memory of
Mary Heinemann
August 18, 1924 — October 26, 2025


Mary Heinemann, 101, of Northern Alberta, passed away on October 26, 2025, in Cranbrook, BC. She was born on August 18, 1924. Mary was a loving and caring individual who had a great passion for cooking. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her children, Chris (Karen) and Alvie (Vivian); brothers, Johnny and Pat (Kay); sister, Elsie; grandchildren, Jody and Darrin; Tara Lee; great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her spouse Albert, parents Doris and Alexander Stuparyk, brothers Bill, Nick and Steve, and sisters Jenny, Anne, and Lena.

Mary was the proud owner of Mary’s Kitchen, where she delighted many with her culinary skills. Cooking was not only her career but also her favourite hobby. She found joy in preparing delicious meals for her loved ones.

A private service will be held in Mary’s honour at a later date. The funeral home assisting with the arrangements is McPherson Funeral Services.

May Mary’s memory be cherished by all those whose lives she touched.

In leu of flowers donations can be made in Mary’s name to either the Vancouver Heart Valve Clinic or the BC SPCA

We will be CLOSED this SUNDAY AND MONDAY as we do the FINAL fumigation of the shop.

When this is complete we can end the very long process we have been working through and turn the page in this chapter of our crazy business journey.

We are still OPEN for hard good sales, ALL SERVICES , and of course the advice corner is always OPEN!!

Let's get a grip on hunger!

The Kimberley Helping Hands Food Bank Society and the Healthy Kimberley Food Recovery Depot are teaming up with the Kimberley Nordic Club for a donation day.

On Saturday, March 25 these local non-profit food organizations are asking the ski community to get behind their efforts to provide food to those in need in our area.

Non-perishable food and money donations will be accepted with gratitude at the KNC entrance.

As an extra bonus, The Bean Tree has generously donated coffee for the event and we will have fresh cups on offer by donation outside the lodge from 9am - 2pm!

Food security needs are steadily increasing in our community due to the increase in the cost of living so please donate what you can and let's get a grip on hunger!
