Two sides of the Apennines, two grapes that speak to where they’re from. 🇮🇹
Pecorino Superiore “Santa Pupa” – La Quercia / Abruzzo, Italy 2024. One of central Italy’s oldest indigenous varieties, grown in the hills between the Apennines and the Adriatic long before anyone was paying attention. Named for a local Madonna, La Quercia’s Santa Pupa is everything Abruzzo does quietly and well — mineral, purposeful, rooted in place. 🥂
Sangiovese “Federico” – Pandolfa / Emilia-Romagna, Italy 2023. Romagna Superiore is Tuscany’s earthier, unhurried neighbour — and Pandolfa’s Federico leans into that fully. Farmhouse roots, Forlì hills, Sangiovese with something to say. 🍷
