Friends, guests and supporters of Grace Restaurant and Grace Bodega: we are writing to inform you of Grace Bodega’s closure. Our last day of operation is Saturday, July 20 from 8 am to 4 pm.
The concept of Grace Bodega was inspired out of both passion and necessity. While helping our dedicated staff continue to serve in the industry through the hardest times of pandemic lockdowns, a vision for Bodega was brought to fruition. Drawing on the culture of cafes, markets and wine bars that we love to visit in other cities focused on beautiful pantry goods, biodynamic wine, and direct trade, hyper-seasonal coffee, our staff of hospitality professionals wanted to share that movement with London.
Due to a myriad of factors, maintaining the vision has become untenable. Many of you have noticed the gaps, and voiced a polite demand for the return of our pour over program, our usual eclectic array of retail coffee, and a boutique selection of chef-approved pantry goods. We hear you, and we are adapting.
We are excited to announce that the culture and passion that created Bodega is coming home to Grace Restaurant. The curated wines that you love will continue to be served at Grand Crew Wine Club at Grace Restaurant, as well as for take-home by incorporating the Bodega bottle shop. There are further refocused and reinvigorated plans to share in the coming months. We hope you will be as excited by them as we are.
We’d acknowledge the vigilant guidance of the Downtown London BIA and Dundas Place Management. We continue alongside in their mission of building a thriving downtown, knowing there is still much work to be done.
We acknowledge our beloved regulars that come to see us everyday. Thank you for buying a coffee, lunch, a glass of wine, or several loaves of sourdough every time you visit. Thank you for making the conscious decision to support local. It has been a pleasure to make your day, and we look forward to serving you in the future.
We acknowledge the effort of the Grace Bodega and Grace Restaurant team. In the face of challenge, creativity and resilience is where they thrive. They’ve planned and executed completely original special events, elegant tea services, and menu innovations to ensure that the changes to our operating model were not premature. The dedication, enthusiasm, and passion of Grace Bodega’s talented staff hasn’t wavered. They are integral to our team, and we are eager to offer them new opportunities at Grace Restaurant.
Thank you for coming along with us on this ride from when we opened three years ago, mid-pandemic, to now. While this may come as a disappointing shock to some of you, things just didn’t work out, and that’s okay. The Grace vision as a whole will continue, and we hope you feel at home with us.
