Sam's Congee Delight was founded by Wong Sam in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong in 1966 as an open-air food stall (or Dai Pai D**g - 大排檔). In 1990, it was relocated to Mong Kok and transitioned into a full service restaurant when the first establishment was permanently closed as part of the Kwun Tong Revitalization Project. The tradition of Sam's Congee Delight continues today in Toronto after the Wong's fam

ily came to Canada in the 1990s. Over the last 50 years, Sam’s Congee Delight served tens of thousands of customers with authentic and affordable wholesome meals, true to the traditional flavours of congee, rice rolls and the deep-fried doughs. Sam’s Congee Delight is located inside Markham’s Market Village, the design of the restaurant uniquely allows patrons to witness the art of handmade rice rolls and award-winning deep-fried doughs. Dear customers,

We apologize for being closed so early on Monday, there was a broken pipe in the surrounding area underground and we had no water service at all, so our only option was to close up the shop.

Everything has been fixed now, and we are open again, so feel free to come by for food!
