One of the gems in life is when you're walking down the street, minding your own business and suddenly a heavenly waft of somebody's home-cooking aromas pull you into a deep hypnotic state of scents. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. It knows when nutrients are lacking or depleted and it seeks to replenish its stock by the food we put into our mouths. Let us not forget tha
t we are animals that have instincts, too. Our government tries to promote health by distributing food guides to its people, so that we can live in vitality and be a stronger nation due to less sickness and more productivity. However, this is not enough to educate its people and reveal the truth about those big corporations that dictate the way the government is run via its affluence and greed. These big corporations, whom are only interested in collecting the $$ big bucks, are focused on taking short-cuts to capitalize and mass produce. This gives rise to the phenomenon of quantity over quality. They start skimping out on the quality ingredients to make their products. Synthesizing preservatives that are not natural, then putting them into our foods so that it will have a longer shelf life, therefore prolonging the time they have to sell the product. Who cares if the preservative stuff provides no nutrients or causes heart disease due to its high levels of sodium? We're making a load of money... This is the haunting mindset that these companies have. They simply do not give one single care for the health of those purchasing their goods because as long as their income is flourishing, that is all they care about. Even more shocking than the preservative infested foods, are the vegetables and fruits harvested from soil that is eroding. Eroding soil has minimal nutrients and has difficult time sustaining healthy growth of vegetation. This prompts the heavy use of pesticides (some of which are carcinogenic) to sustain the life of the vegetation. Eroded soil is caused by the abuse of natural resources like deforestation, grazing by animals that we raise for food, faulty farming systems, mining, ETC...
This is the model that many of us live by. A model that is silently, slowly but surely, driving humanity to the ground. Let's try to be mindful and more concerned about these things that happen behind the scenes. Open our eyes and use good judgement when making decisions.
