What's in your lunchbox today? 🍱

For me, it was always simple: tomatoes, red onion, olive oil, and za'atar. That salad became our Za'atar Salad — ripe tomatoes, sweet red onion, za'atar, olive oil, and lemon.

A Levantine classic — ripe tomatoes and sweet red onion, tossed with fresh za'atar leaves, a drizzle of olive oil, and a splash of tangy sumac. Light, fragrant, and utterly fresh.

In the Heart of Summer, Love Takes Many Forms.

High in the canopy, where sunlight filters through leaves like scattered gold, a squirrel mother bends to her most sacred work: grooming her young.

Her tongue, soft as a petal, traces the delicate fur of her kits. She licks their bellies, their tiny faces, their trembling limbs — not merely to clean, but to comfort. To remind them, without words, that they are safe. That they are not alone.

Even before their eyes open, even before they can hear, they know her. They feel her warmth. They smell the scent of home — pine, earth, and her unwavering devotion.

She grooms them. She protects them. And in doing so, she teaches them their first and most important lesson: that to be cared for is to be loved.

At La Bonne Hirondelle, We Carry This Spirit into the Kitchen.

Our 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗱 is not just a dish. It is a labour of love.

We start with sweet corn, kissed by the sun and picked at the height of its season. We cradle it with crisp vegetables and shower it with fresh herbs. We dress it simply — with lime, olive oil, and a whisper of salt — because the best things in life need no disguise.

Like a mother's grooming, this salad is quiet. It is honest. It is tender.

It asks nothing of you but to be present. To taste. To savour the season. To remember that sometimes, the simplest acts of care — whether a mother's lick or a chef's hand — are the most profound.

A Taste of the Season. A Reminder of What Matters.🕊️🌽

Come taste the summer. Come taste the love.

La Bonne Hirondelle — Where every dish is a story worth savouring.

Fresh sweet corn, crisp vegetables, and fresh herbs tossed in a zesty lime dressing.

Flanked by Anubis and Osiris are four figures identified by the Greek inscription: "𝑃𝑒𝑘𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑠, 𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑜𝑓 𝐴𝑟𝑢𝑜𝑡𝑒𝑠, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝘩𝑖𝑠 𝑏𝑟𝑜𝑡𝘩𝑒𝑟 𝑃𝑎𝑐𝘩𝑜𝑢𝑚𝑖𝑠; 𝑇𝑏𝑎𝑖𝑘𝑖𝑠 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑒𝑙𝑑𝑒𝑟 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑇𝑏𝑎𝑖𝑘𝑖𝑠 𝑡𝘩𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑟." Pekysis is probably the individual holding a torch, an attribute unusual in Egyptian-style funerary stelae, although it does have chthonic or underworld associations in Greco-Roman mythology. Anubis carries the key that symbolizes his role as guardian of the tomb and the one having access to the underworld.
