Its job? Quick and efficient thatch removal. 🌱

By pulling excess organic material out of the turf canopy, the Turf Team helps improve airflow, water movement, and overall turf health from the ground up.

Ever wondered what’s happening beneath the surface of our greens?

What you’re seeing here is the result of years of proper aeration practices. Those visible sand channels help water move efficiently through the soil profile while giving roots the oxygen they need to thrive.

It’s one of the key reasons our greens stay firm, healthy, and playable throughout the season 👏

A lot of course conditioning happens below ground level - and the Turf Team is always working behind the scenes to keep things performing at their best.

☀️🍹 Patio season at NGC just got even better.

Members have been loving the new patio umbrellas and updated patio furniture on the deck - now complete with built-in lighting for those long spring and summer evenings 👏

Our Food & Beverage team even took a moment to test things out themselves and show off the refreshed space 😄

Whether it’s a post-round catch-up, a quiet drink with friends, or simply taking in the view, the updated patio area has quickly become a favourite gathering spot around the club.

Big thanks to the Food & Beverage team for continuing to create a welcoming atmosphere for members and their guests.

At Nanaimo Golf Club, our steaks are hand-cut in-house - like Chef Nigel here, making sure every cut is just right 👌

Now… we can’t fully explain the bubble wrap hat 🤔
But we can confirm it’s not part of the standard kitchen uniform.

All jokes aside, it’s this kind of care (and personality) behind the scenes that goes into the meals our members enjoy.

Olivia has quickly made an impression with members thanks to her friendly personality - and her ability to remember names (which hasn’t gone unnoticed 👏).
