Come and join us... for the music!

What a night. The buzz from last week was accurate. Paul PIgat walked into a room full of fans anticipating an evening of grooving to whatever Paul felt like playing. And play he did... the blues, a bit of Jazz, some originals and for an encore we all joined him in singing "Happy Trails..." .
Next Thursday, the inimitable Jim Foster will be on hand... and once again, based on the shouts of "I'll be here" and "we'll be here", that I actually heard tonight (petit inside joke) better make sure you've reserved your seats! See you next Thursday!

Doc Fingers — accompanied by Tim Porter on guitar and Chris Nordquist on drums — made his first Corner Stone house call of the year; proving once again that good music really is the very best medicine. Greeted by a full house that was ready to party, Doc and the band delivered. There was even a surprise guest during the second set when the band welcomed Darryl Burgess, who sat in on drums for a tune before joining Doc on vocals for the rest of the set. Once again, many thanks to the audience who were a huge part of the show's success and a big thank you as well to the Bistro staff. We couldn't do this without you.

You know how you'll hear stories about these amazing concerts that happen and only a few people were there to see it? Tonight's show was like that. A late cancellation meant the patio wasn't needed so after everyone moved into the actual bistro, the big door was closed, the house lights dimmed and Oliver and the Elements Trio treated everyone in attendance to an evening of music performed with an infectious and enthusiastic joy. Brian Phillips (lead guitar and backing vocals) and Terry Bramhall (bass and vocals) each had their solo moments but it was multi-instrumentalist Oliver Conway front and centre, leading the band and putting on the kind of show that's often talked about but rarely seen. I'm sure there are other clips from tonight, I was so busy enjoying the music I forgot I was supposed to capture some of it...

Thursday Night Live Music at the Corner Stone opened its 2025 season with Norman Foote and his merry band of musicians. Norm dedicated tonight's performance to the late Paul Hovan and definitely put on a show that would have had "the Hat" up and dancing because at one point... I was almost up and doing a jig...
Next week Oliver Conway will bring his trio (and their incredibly wide ranging repertoire) to the Corner Stone with their first show of the year.
