Wondering how can we show our solidarity to Ukrainian people, from home? By cooking Borscht, says Ievgen Klopotenko inviting everyone around the world to cook this hearty meal and adding in into restaurant menus, donating money raised to groups working to help Ukrainians both inside and outside the country.
“Borscht is our soul, it connects us no matter where we are. Every sip of borscht makes you feel that Ukraine is united, that everything will be alright. It’s hard to explain, but it represents our unity, and our connection to our land.”
Looking for a way you can support right now? DONATE today to support Slow Food projects on the ground:
🐌. Saving Ukrainian biodiversity: To support those farmers who, even in wartime, have not left their farms, risking their lives to preserve the animal breeds and plant varieties they grow in order to nourish their local community and feed the future.
🐌. Keeping knowledge alive: To create matching opportunities between Ukrainian Slow Food Community members and their counterparts throughout Europe. Beekeepers to be matched with beekeepers, cheesemakers with cheesemakers, and so on, in a fruitful exchange of skills which will be vital for the post-war reconstruction of the country.
