After a busy stretch away from Lakeshore with catering, events, upgrades to the truck, and all the things that come with running a small business, we’re excited to return to the Peach for another season. But we wanted to kick things off a little differently this year.
This Friday would have been my mom’s birthday, and I can’t think of a better way to honour her than by doing something she would have loved to see.
So we’re giving away a limited quantity of free burgers from Queen City Eats from 4-6pm!
No catch. No purchase necessary.
Just good food, good people, and a chance to gather together.
Whether you’ve supported us for years, stopped by once, or are simply hungry, we’d love to see you.
Join us Friday, June 12 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Peach on Lakeshore. Come grab a burger, share a laugh, meet a neighbour, and help us celebrate the kind of community that raised me.

We’re back for another season at the Community Market this Saturday, and we couldn’t be more excited.

This market means a lot to us. It’s where Queen City Eats really cut its teeth back in 2022, and we’ve been rolling ever since. From those first early mornings and nervous first services to the incredible support, familiar faces, and friendships we’ve built along the way, this market has been a huge part of our story.

We can’t wait to be back downtown, see so many familiar faces, meet some new friends, and kick off another amazing season together.

Queen City Eats Pro Tip 🥔

If you want your potatoes to taste like they came out of a restaurant kitchen, here’s a little trick.

Next time you’re making mashed potatoes or potatoes au gratin, start a bit early.

Throw your cream and milk in a pot on low with whatever herbs and spices you love. Let that hang out on low for about 2 hours and let the flavours get to know each other.

You can even toss it in the fridge after and let it keep doing its thing.

Then strain it and use that cream with thinly sliced potatoes for an au gratin… or in your mashed potatoes.

Same ingredients.
Same effort.
10x the flavour.

Had one of those “right place, right time” moments recently.

I was chatting with a teacher about how we went all in researching the origins of poutine for a French class — from Québec roots to curds, gravy technique, and what actually makes it work. Turns out, she’s the Foods Exploratory teacher at KVR… and invited me in to show the class how we make our poutine gravy.

Simple. Delicious. From-scratch.

The room was full of energy (you know how kids can be 😂), and I had an absolute blast. It was loud, fun, and the kind of controlled chaos that reminds you how powerful hands-on learning really is.

Huge respect to teachers who channel that energy every single day. I left inspired — and very grateful for the opportunity. Also… I asked AI to remove the kids’ names from the board behind me and it gave me a fresh shave. Didn’t ask for that, but okay. 🤖✂️

As we wrap up another year, we’re feeling incredibly grateful.

This year was filled with family moments, road trips, sports sidelines, and a lot of time exploring the beauty of British Columbia. It was our first season at The Peach, a milestone that meant more to us than we can put into words.

Beyond the truck, this year brought growth and connection. From being elected Local President with JCI to finding new ways to give back and support people in our community, we were reminded just how special it is to live and work here.

To everyone who stopped by the truck, supported us, shared a meal, booked us, or simply cheered us on, thank you. Feeding our community is a privilege, and your support makes it possible.

Here’s to more memories, more miles, and more moments around good food in the year ahead. Happy New Year 💛
