Notification of upcoming fragrance-free zone at Bistro54.

Perfumes and colognes are a big part of a special evening out, but in small dining spaces such as ours, they can prove quite overpowering and detrimental to the health of some individuals.

They can affect - not only other patrons - but with our open kitchen, our chefs cooking senses can be compromised as well. On numerous occasions diners, as well as members of our staff, have reported that the variety of strong fragrances present in our dining room have produced severe headaches and nausea.

It is common knowledge that many people suffer from fragrance induced allergic reactions that will most certainly detract from a well-planned and anticipated evening of dining at their favourite establishment. Recently we have had our kitchen staff have adverse reactions causing both headache and allergic reactions to fragrances and/or hairsprays in our dining area. All air in our building must pass through the kitchen as it exits our kitchen exhaust system.

For those reasons we ask that all diners be aware of and to be sensitive to these conditions and that when coming to Bistro54 consider that we will be moving toward being an officially posted fragrance free zone in the upcoming months.

Outdoor dining fans...Bistro54 is now open Tuesday 5-9 on the patio for appetizers and bubbly cocktails. Space is a bit restricted so come early and grab a table...pizza, bruschetta, salami and much more!!
Prosecco cocktails, Compari, cold local beer!

So Nicky and I have been self isolating since the 15th of March as we were exposed to many guests at the Bistro on our last evening open - the 14th. So- far- so- good though the stress has been taxing to say the least. We can't be too careful if we are going to be sending meals out into the community. At least we can get more work done around the house for now. We are modifying our menu to make it more friendly towards take out orders. We hope to begin this April 2nd. If all goes well, and we continue to remain healthy we will be offering a 10 item dinner menu with all of the favourites available.
We will be doing Wednesday - Saturday, 5pm - 8pm - payments by C/C at time of ordering. We hope to see all the regular faces. I can't express how much we need to get cooking again!
Stay healthy everyone. Practice effective physical distancing and most of all be patient.

Tough times. Reducing all costs - business and personal. Social distancing. Keeping in touch with staff. Have great employees that have not complained or shown any fear...true restaurant people - tough as nails - I miss you guys... It's the one thing that all restaurant employees have in common - nothing takes us down! The show must go on. The medical community in this town is second to none - we're in great hands that are connected to great hearts serving a great community. To all the other restaurant owners and small business owners in Perth - keep the fight going, gather info and demand from all levels of government that small business; for me-especially the hospitality industry, must not be ignored. We are the life blood of all communities coast- to- coast. They ordered us to close, and we willingly are doing our part to mitigate the spread of this virus. Community first but now they must look at plans to fully compensate us and prevent the catastrophic loss of all we have worked for.
Not without a fight - Coast-to Coast - Hospitality strong!!
