Throughout the year, our space comes alive through a curated calendar of public events, creative workshops, and intimate private gatherings. Bistro Le Chat Bleu opened late June of 2015 and the response was immediate and very positive. Our heritage building was once a village General Store and dates back to the mid 1800's. Honouring the classic “bistro” tradition, we have devoted ourselves to offe

ring clean, big flavour food in a cozy setting, using ingredients that where possible are sourced locally. We love growing our own food, and buying from local farmers and friends.

Meet the Maker - Brigitte McLean

We're keeping things rooted in the soil over here. Our cafe and new gathering space is a great place to invite local makers like Brigitte McLean whose wild nature creations are hand woven into honest, rugged, and functional art.
Brigitte’s craft is all about honouring the land. She foragers 100% compostable materials straight from our local ditches, forests and fields—blending the rare, feral Acadian willow with supple native willows and at times, incorporating wild Virginia creeper, and sun-dried cattails. No plastics, no wire, just the raw beauty of the countryside shaped into sturdy, ready-made baskets and wall pieces that are built to be used and designed to eventually return to the earth.
Swing by the cafe for a bite to eat, coffee or a libation, a good chat, and a look at Brigitte’s latest handwoven pieces. Take a piece of the wild woods home with you.

Are you curious? I am and can’t wait to spend a little time with Melissa Yorke and check out her beautiful handbags. She’s all packed up and ready to visit us here at Le Chat Bleu today. The shop is open from 11:30am to 4pm. Join us for coffee and dessert, pull up a chair and sip on glass of sparkling and a taster of local “Fermé du Diamant” duck pâté and dig into our deli fridge and freezer for take home treats. Maybe even tuck your purchases into that new leather handbag you decide is perfect for you.
