We just turned 29! 🎉🍦
Twenty-nine years ago, in the spring of 1997, we opened a tiny scoop shack at Rocky Point Park with a simple idea: serve really good ice cream and create a place where people could gather.
In those early years, we proudly served ice cream made by another local craft supplier. Then in 2013, we took the next big step in our journey and began making our own artisan ice cream from scratch.
Today, as we celebrate our 29th birthday, so much has changed — but the things that matter most have not.
We are still the same family owners and operators behind Rocky Point Ice Cream. We still believe ice cream makes everything better. And our dedication to quality, craft, community, and our people remains at the heart of everything we do.
Over the years, RPIC has grown from a seasonal scoop shack into multiple stores, trucks, event trailers, and BC’s first licensed dairy plant dedicated exclusively to craft ice cream. Growth has allowed us to keep improving, while staying true to the experience that made people fall in love with Rocky Point Ice Cream in the first place.
In a world where so much food production happens behind closed doors, transparency matters. At RPIC, you can walk into our Ice Cream Wonderland factory, stand on the viewing deck, and watch us make your ice cream. As a licensed dairy plant dedicated solely to craft ice cream production, our products are tested and held to the highest food safety standards — because we believe knowing how your food is prepared matters.
Twenty-nine years later, we are incredibly grateful to still be doing what we love, in the communities we love, alongside generations of families who have made RPIC part of their lives.
Thank you for every scoop, every lineup, every summer evening, every birthday cake, every first date, every family tradition, and every memory made with us over the past 29 years.
