🎉 Venue Rental: Host your meetings, small weddings, or special events in an unforgettable Victorian setting. The three storey, 3500 square foot Victorian-style farm house was built in what is now West Park Estates. The original location commanded a beautiful view of the Red Deer River Valley. The house was bu
ilt by the Cronquist family who were Swedish immigrants. In its day it was a large, luxurious and well-planned home. In 1973, the house and land were acquired by developers who intended to demolish the house and build a new subdivision. In 1976, the Red Deer Folk Festival Society was given the opportunity and took on the challenge of rescuing the now famous Cronquist House from demolition, In re-locating the house to its present site overlooking the picturesque Bower Ponds, the Society created one of the first multicultural centers in Alberta. After the move to the Bower Ponds location, the Cronquist House was completely restored. It stands on a new basement, the original bricks, removed for re-location, were reset, and new wiring, heating and plumbing systems installed. In July & August, the public is invited to enjoy the ambience of the Cronquist House over delicious light lunches or afternoon tea and dessert. The house may also be rented for meetings, small weddings, or other private functions. For more information, please go to: www.rdchs.com
