Imagine you’re on an airplane ready to take off, and the flight attendant is reminding you to put your air mask on before you assist others. Does this come intuitively to you? Did it take you time to understand the idea of giving to yourself before all others? If I’m being completely transparent, the true meaning of this didn’t sink in with me for a really long time. I was so used to ensuring everyone else was cared for and happy that it didn’t even sink in that I could put myself first.

Have you heard the saying “you can’t pour from an empty cup?” Well, I’m here to tell you it is completely true! In modern fast-paced life, taking care of our own needs and giving back to ourselves, can feel not only selfish but completely unrealistic. It’s a common misconception that we shouldn’t consider putting our needs first, especially when the rest of our family’s needs aren’t fully taken care of. How dare we carve out 30 minutes to work out, when we aren’t sure how the rest of our to-do list will be taken care of?

I’m here to tell you, giving yourself the 30 minutes you need to fill your cup can change everything! We have to learn to schedule in time to take care of ourselves, because if we don’t stand up for ourselves, who will? No one knows your own body better, and the gratitude that comes from listening to your intuition is something to not be taken lightly, it truly has a ripple effect.

I hope you find some time for yourself today. You deserve it.

Peppermint cacao nibs tea! Doesn’t it sound absolutely delicious? It tastes heavenly and the fragrance is beyond compare. Who doesn’t love chocolate and mint? Imagine having just this combination in a warm mug of tea.

Cacao nibs are simply bits of fermented cocoa beans. These crunchy bits add a delightful chocolate flavor without making it feel like hot chocolate. It’s slightly bittersweet and a great combination with mint.

Drinking a tea made by infusing guava leaves in boiling water may be helpful in treating diarrhea, cold and flu, lowering cholesterol, preventing diabetes, and it even exhibits anti-cancer properties.

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
4 cups water
1 handful guava leaves preferably fresh

Instructions

1. Bring a pot of water to boil on the stove.
2. Add a handful of freshly picked, cleaned guava leaves. Since the leaves will float on the top, use a spatula to push them gently into the boiling water. Let it boil for ten minutes.
3. If you are using dried guava leaves, you may have to steep it for a few minutes longer.
4. Strain the leaves and enjoy your freshly brewed guava tea!

The feeling when you make your puppy the yummiest snack ever, only to have him look away. I made Yogurt, Peanut Butter and Berry frozen cubes for Theo. He sniffed once, licked it when he saw my dismay and then simply stared in the other direction.

Comment if this is relatable!

PS: Despite his aversion to eating berries (or green veggies), I love him to bits.

Did you just eat an avocado? Did you throw out it’s seed? NO!! Make this beautiful, naturally red coloured, highly beneficial avocado tea seed instead.

If your tummy feels heavy or you have been constipated for a while you should make this beverage a part of your daily routine. The tea is packed with anti-inflammatory properties. It helps reduce pain and swelling that could be due to underlying inflammation. Avocado seed tea could do wonders to keep your blood pressure in check. Much like the fruit, the seed too is a very good source of potassium. Potassium helps negate the ill -effects of sodium and stabilise your blood pressure levels by relaxing your blood vessels. Being a rich source of vitamin C, avocado seeds also help exfoliate your skin naturally and induce a natural glow.

We hope you enjoy this unique tea!

Eye problems are on the rise with screen usage - whether it’s a tablet, computer, or cell phone. With the rise in technology comes an increase in dry eye, eye fatigue, blurry vision, and headaches. Many people may try to treat these symptoms with blue light glasses. However, studies show it’s doubtful whether the glasses actually help, or if they simply remind the wearer to lessen screen usage.
The American Optometric Association says Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) can be lessened by following the 20-20-20 rule. (Look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes to give your eyes a break). However, there are many studies showing specific herbs that can help with not only preserving vision but improving it too. We’ve used these studies to make the best herbal tea for eye health.

Our favourite herbs include:
Ginkgo biloba
Gotu kola
Vitex berry
Hawthorn berry
Plantain
Goldenrod
Ground ivy

I drink hot tea 365 days a year. However, I love the option of making the Herbal Citrus Rooibos Tea iced as well! This blend offers a fun tasting infusion of the naturally sweet Rooibos complemented by the citrusy notes of lemon and orange. I find that the rooibos offers notes of vanilla and geranium in this iced tea which pairs nicely with the additional citrus flavours.

All you have to do to create a cold version of this amazing tea blend is steep it in hot water, mix a sweetener of your choice (I like adding maple syrup), cool it down and add ice! You can also top up your glass with sparkling water to add an extra zing.
