We’ll be closed Tuesday, November 3rd while we give the café a proper deep clean and take care of some routine maintenance.

Could these be the best sandwiches to ever come out of the café??

The kitchen has been very busy reimagining our famous focaccia to make it the perfect bread for our grab-and-go sandwiches, and they’ve absolutely nailed it.

Think Schiacciata rather than our usual crisp, fluffy focaccia.

We tested a few today, and honestly, I think this might be the best sandwich we’ve produced in our 10 years of operation.

Don’t worry, our good ol’ focaccia will still be available by the slice. ❤️

One important note: the one in this clip isn’t toasted.

Pro tip: toast that sh*te 😮‍💨

Turns out Emily’s pretty good at this roasting thing😮

When emily joined us at the roastery, we handed her the reins, with a little guidance from our Head Roaster, Lemmie, and let her roast her very first batch of coffee.

According to Lemmie, she absolutely nailed it.

Apparently, John’s still got some work to do before Lemmie trusts him behind the wheel. 😂

Meet Francy Castillo.
The woman behind the coffee in our Emily Roasts Coffee collaboration.

Francy grew up surrounded by coffee on her family’s farm, Finca El Uberrimo, in Nariño, Colombia, working alongside her father and four sisters. Her passion for coffee led her to study agronomy, and today she’s helping shape the future of specialty coffee in her region through Berruecos a project connecting small-scale producers with specialty coffee buyers and creating opportunities for better prices.

For this collaboration, Emily wanted to showcase a coffee grown by a female producer, and Francy’s was a pretty special one to land on.
An extended-fermentation, honey-processed coffee with notes of tangerine, wildflower honey and cocoa powder.
We’re proud to share her coffee with you, along with a little piece of her story.

Emily Makes Coffee. This time, she roasts it.

It's finally here! Introducing Emily Roasts Coffee, a very special, limited-edition collaboration between Spilt Milk and the one and only .makes.coffee!

At the heart of this release is an exceptional honey-processed Colombian coffee grown by Francy Castillo at Finca El Uberrimo in Nariño, Colombia.

From selecting the green coffee to stepping behind the roaster herself, Emily joined us to bring this little project to life. Her first time roasting coffee, and she absolutely nailed it!

The result? A beautifully smooth, complexly layered coffee with notes of tangerine, wildflower honey and cocoa powder, roasted for a filter.

And because one special release wasn't quite enough, we've also created a matching organic cotton tote featuring custom artwork from the collaboration.

This collab is a little celebration of good coffee, great people and the stories that bring them together.

What happens when a coffee creator gets to create a coffee of her very own?

A little while ago, we invited Emily from emily to collaborate with us on something special.

Not just a coffee with her name on the bag, but a chance to get involved in the process, from selecting the coffee to roasting it alongside our head of coffee, Lemmie Green.

It’s been such a fun project to bring to life, and we’re pretty excited for you to taste the result.
