We’ve had a lot of questions about what we’re working on right now.

At this stage, it’s mostly small decisions — colours, textures, finishes — thinking through how everything will work together once people are actually in the space.

This wasn’t the plan.

After a lot of thought (and more than a few hard conversations), we’re moving Blue Mussel from North Rustico Harbour to the south end of Rustico Bay.

The harbour gave us 30 incredible years.
This new spot gives us solid ground, room to grow, and a future we can build on.

There’s a lot left to do.
But we know exactly where we’re headed.

Thanks for sticking with us — we’ll keep sharing the journey as it unfolds.

That’s a wrap on our 2025 season — and our final one in North Rustico Harbour.

After 12 incredible years on the wharf, it’s time for a new chapter.
We’ll be reopening in Spring 2026 at 5033 Rustico Road in South Rustico — still seasonal, still family-run, and still serving the best seafood we can, just with a new view.

To our amazing community in North Rustico: thank you for everything.

From the crew at Home Hardware who helped us rebuild and redesign (more than a few times!), to the North Rustico Food Mart for daily supply runs, Murphy’s Pharmacy for endless bandaids, Robin’s Donuts for those early morning coffees, By the Bay for pizza days and hot turkey sandwiches when you just need one, On the Dock Eatery — our neighbours and friends, Doiron’s Fisheries for keeping us stocked with beautiful fish, the Irving station for filling propane tanks to keep us warm through those early and late-season chills, the Seagull’s Nest Gift Shop for always sending visitors our way, and the Doyle family for their kindness and support over so many years.

You’ve all been part of our story, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

To our incredible customers — thank you for your unwavering support, season after season. Many of you have become friends, and seeing familiar faces return year after year has meant the world to us.

A huge thank you as well to the many inns, hotels, and B&Bs across PEI who’ve recommended us to their guests over the years — it’s never gone unnoticed, and we’re so grateful for your continued support.

To our incredible staff — thank you for pulling off the impossible every summer. You’re the most dedicated, hard working crew we could ever ask for and what you pull off every summer is nothing short of a miracle. You are the heartbeat of this place.

It’s not goodbye — it’s just “see you soon.”

Last Summer In The Harbour.

🗓️ October 10 2025 will be our last day open on our last summer in the harbour!!!

Moving to the south side of the bay next spring and have already begun work on the new BMC location next to the Oyster Bed Bridge.
Expect to be open by spring 2026.

One Last Summer in the Harbour — And It Starts Tomorrow!!

We’re open for the 2025 season tomorrow — and yes, it’s official, this will be our final summer in North Rustico Harbour.

But don’t worry — we’re not closing. We’re moving.

After Hurricane Fiona, we worked hard to rebuild and reopen. But since then, our location has been officially classified as a flood zone — and we’re no longer able to get flood insurance. Combined with some ongoing operational challenges, it became clear that staying here long-term just wasn’t possible — even though our hearts will always be here.

So, we made the difficult decision to relocate in 2026 to a new waterfront home — not in the harbour, but still close by.

It gives us the stability we need to keep doing what we love, for years to come.

It’s still seasonal. Still right on the water. Still the same crew. Still very much us.

This summer? It’s all about soaking up the magic of this harbour one last time. The view, the crew, the memories. Let’s make it count.
