This week, we’re spotlighting UNA pizza + wine Saskatoon ! Opened on Broadway Avenue in January 2016, UNA has been serving up pizza, pasta, salads, and wine to Saskatoon locals ever since. This week, we’re spotlighting Awasis Boutique! Launched in February 2018 as Canada’s first Indigenous baby and kids apparel line, Awāsis started from a kitchen island with a teacher-turned-entrepreneur and two little helpers by her side. From onesies, tees, blankets, and bibs, the brand quickly grew to become nationally recognized, expanding product selections for all ages and allies.

Awāsis now has a store within a store at Wanuskewin Collective on Broadway, 870 Broadway Avenue, and community is at the core of everything they do, donating over $120K back into the community and working with more than 40 organizations with reconciliation in mind.

Support Awāsis by shopping in-store or online, collaborating on custom designs or bulk orders, booking Christine for workshops or keynotes, or even bringing their bannock mascot to your next community event.

Pat has helped shape Broadway into the vibrant, welcoming, community-driven district it is today. Her care, leadership, and steady presence have left a mark on nearly every corner of this neighbourhood and on every person who has had the privilege of meeting her.

This is an opportunity to hear updates on the past year, learn about upcoming initiatives in the Broadway District, and take part in shaping the future of your district!

We are seeking individuals who are interested in contributing their skills and perspective to support a vibrant, inclusive, and thriving Broadway District.

We are especially looking for experience in areas such as:
• Financial management
• Project management
• Organizational or strategic planning
• Connections to the arts and local creative communities
• Community engagement and collaboration

Board members help guide BBID’s strategic direction, support district initiatives, and act as ambassadors for Broadway’s business, cultural, and community interests.

Appointments are made in accordance with City of Saskatoon guidelines and BBID bylaws, with a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in all decision-making.

Last night’s Empowerment & Self-Defence Workshop brought Broadway District front-line staff together for a hands-on, high-energy session led by Momentum Martial Arts (Saskatoon).

Through guided scenarios and active participation, attendees explored how to respond to real-world situations with clarity and confidence.
