UPDATE CANADA DAY:

Due to the rainy weather the city of Selkirk has moved the Canada Day celebration indoors. The new location is at the Selkirk Rec Centre on Easton Drive.. We will be set up and serving at 4pm still, but I am not 100% sure where our food truck and lemonade stand will be located on the grounds.. Once I know I will let you know and snap a picture so it will be easy for you to find us...

Gorilla Fries Inc. will be in Selkirk for Canada Day 🇨🇦. You can find us on the corner of Eveline in the same spot as last year.. We will also have the lemonade stand adjacent to the feont of the food truck... We will be serving from 4pm to 11:30 or midnight...

**Due to the threat of rain, all Canada Day activities scheduled for the Waterfront have been relocated to the Selkirk Rec Complex at 180 Easton Dr. Fireworks have been postponed to a later date.

You knew it was coming, but we may as well officially announce it: Selkirk's Canada Day celebration is back at the Waterfront again this year! 🇨🇦

Join us July 1 for Selkirk's biggest summertime bash with free live entertainment, Kids Zone, a Makers Market hosted by Bud and Bloom, food vendors, and more, capped off by the best fireworks in the entire Interlake. 🎆

Bring a lawn chair and kick back and relax as we celebrate our great country together.

ANISHINAABE IDOL AUDITION DEADLINE IS FAST APPROACHING! 🎤

There is still time to submit your audition for Anishinaabe Idol at the 5th Annual Anishinaabe Days Celebration, but the deadline is coming up quickly!

First Nation community members of all ages are invited to submit a video showcasing their voice for a chance to become one of 10 finalists selected to perform live at Naawi-Oodena.

All genres are welcome, including country, pop, R&B, gospel, hip-hop, acoustic, and more. Professional recording artists are not eligible.

LIVE COMPETITION
Date: July 25, 2026
Location: Naawi-Oodena, Winnipeg, MB

PRIZES
1st Place: $1,500
2nd Place: $750
3rd Place: $500

Submit your audition video through Treaty One’s Facebook or Instagram Messenger by Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11:59 PM CST.

Late submissions will not be accepted.

The top 10 finalists will be contacted at a later date.

Gorilla Fries Inc. will be in Selkirk this Saturday and Sunday at the Selkirk Recreation Centre for the Red River Recreational Soccer League (RRRSL) End-of-Season Jamboree..... The lemonade stand will be adjacent to the food truck...We are open all the public so come by say hi and grab your favorite foods. See you all soon 🙂

🎉 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 🎉

The Selkirk BIZ Annual Parade takes place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, and we need 60 volunteers to help keep the parade route safe.

Volunteers will be stationed at road closures along the route to ensure the safety of our floats, attendees, families, and children.

As a non-profit organization, we depend on community volunteers. Without your support, running the parade isn't possible .

Tonight is the night... This is one of our favorite events of the season.. Goodtimes are had by all. 🙂 We look forward to seeing you all this weekend.

I know I’m already feeling pretty peckish in anticipation for Chickendaze 2026 and the food trucks that’ll be there!
