We’re going back to our roots. Quite literally.

Our new Pickled Beet & Goat Cheese Salad has landed on the menu.

House-pickled beets, creamy goat cheese, candied pecans, toasted seeds, all served on a bed of mixed greens.

A little sweet, a little tangy, a little crunch. Turns out getting back to your roots tastes pretty good.

Bye, Jes… 💛

We’re very sad to say goodbye to Jes as she heads back to Ontario. It’s been such a delight having her on the team—an absolute pro at the job and a huge part of the glue that brought us together as friends here at The Backyard.

We’re not quite sure what we’ll do without you, Jes, but thank you so much for choosing to spend this chapter with us. We’ll miss you!

GOOD LUCK, JES! 🥹

Catch her for her last shift tonight during trivia and help us give her a proper send-off.

The evenings are drawing in. Come spend a few of them with us.

Here’s what’s happening this week at The Backyard:

Monday • Half-price kids’ meals and the milkshake menu. Dinner out with the little ones, washing up included.

Tuesday • $5 off all burgers, half-price bottles of w**e and Darts League from 6:30 pm.

Wednesday • Trivia with Shane Fry at 7:30 pm. Get the team together and put all that otherwise useless knowledge to work.

Thursday • $6 local taps and Valleycliffe Euchre Club at 6:30 pm. Seasoned players and cottage amateurs welcome.

Friday • $10 Dentville ginger b**r cocktails to welcome the weekend.

Saturday • Brunch from 11 am–2 pm and $6 Steamworks taps.

Sunday • Brunch from 11 am–2 pm, Sunday roast from 5 pm onwards and free live music from Lola, 5–8 pm. Bring your appetite and settle in for the evening.

Sunday plans, stacked.

Start with brunch from 11 am–2 pm, catch the NFL throughout the day, then settle in for Sunday roast and live music from Robbie Johnson, both from 5 pm.

Come down after a morning outside, meet your friends for the game or join us for dinner and a few songs. There’s plenty of Sunday to go around.

Two international rugby matches on the screens at The Backyard today.

First up, Canada’s women take on England at 4 pm. Come down and get behind the Canadians with us.

Then at 9:30 pm, New Zealand face Australia in the Bledisloe Cup. All Blacks and Wallabies fans, we’ll leave you to settle the seating arrangements.

Grab some dinner, bring your rugby crew and join us for a Friday at the pub.

Two beefy boys have joined the lunch menu.

Philly Cheesesteak
Seasoned beef, roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, provolone, American cheddar and garlic aioli.

Beef Dip
Beef cooked in au jus, caramelized onions, Swiss cheese, horseradish mayo and arugula, with au jus on the side for dipping.

Lunch just got a little beefier. Come hungry.
