With Earth Day this week, let’s talk about our food. 🌎
We sold out of lunch early today. Again.
Last week, same thing.
We made more this week and somehow sold out even earlier.
We even sold out of certain baked goods, which there had been so many of…
and then suddenly, there just weren’t.
We appreciate all of you that came through, whether you got your favourite or you had to switch it up and try something new.
2 a.m. alarm is locked in for tomorrow, so we’ll give it another go and see if we can finally outsmart the chaos.
The reality is, this industry is wildly hard to predict. We look at past days, weather, events… and it still doesn’t always make sense.
But one thing that’s always mattered to us is minimizing food waste.
We’d rather sell out than throw food away. Everything we make is in-house, small batch, and a lot of what we do is based on using what we have and what needs to be used.
Our compost goes home with us, scraps go to our chickens, and yes, we’ve absolutely dug through garbage to fix recycling when it ends up in the wrong spot.
We know it’s frustrating when lunch sells out. We get it.
But wasting food doesn’t sit right with us,
