So I don't know how to share a share...or if that's even a thing you can do.

But the organizers of the party I just catered....threw down and put up a swell write-up about Yorke In The House from the event last Friday.

Feels good getting props like this. Even giving mention of the whole family being peesent, and my ma's fireside bannock voodoo that she do.

Again...this event was fun to do. Hoping to take part again next year with a whole new menu to show off.

Here we go again!!! Yorke In The House served up another catered dinner service, but this time with some roots. First Nation Industrial Systems hosted a party on some beautiful farmland. This time I had a whole slew of Yorkes to help me out, the whole family was out.

Guest list included many people where this was their first trip to Canada, so I was asked to whip up a very Northern and Aborginal themed menu. With the help of local suppliers I was able to provide:

-Moose Stew
-Spaghetti with Venison Meatballs
-Red Wine Ragu
-Bear and Mushroom Stroganoff
-Wild Rice Pilaf
-Canadian Goose Stir-fry
-Beer Brined Chicken
-Orange and Rosemary Glazed Duck Breast
-Roasted Potatoes
-Roasted Butternut Squash
-Sweet Sage Buttered Corn

For Dessert:
-Indian Pudding with Custard
-Orange Rhubard Bannock Cake
-Blueberry White Chocolate Bannock Cake
-Bread Pudding
-Cinnamon Rice Pudding

The hosts even prepared a grounds for my mother to do fireside bannock and a craft tent for her and my dad's crafts.

It was a splendid evening and I had a lot of fun preparing this menu. The reception to the wild game foods was very well received...glad I could be a part of this memorable occasion. Thank you again Gord, Kim, Sierra and Mike.

Well....been a while!!

Between work, trying to camp and fish....I haven't done much catering since the fall really.

But this weekend was a doozy. I know I've said in the past that large functions are off the table, especially weddings. But this was one I couldn't say no to. A close friend and fellow employee was getting hitched, and wanted me to play a role. So I jumped into uniform and went at it.

Over the weekend...I provided dinner, late night snack and morning after brunch. It was a pleasure Jenn!!!

Menu rundown....

Dinner:
-Braised Basil Pesto Chicken Supreme with Crwam Sundried Tomato Sauce
-Herb Crusted Salmon with Honey Caper Sauce
-Garluc Mashed Potatoes
-Barley Rissotto
-Mac n Cheese
-Grilled Asparagus
-Roasted Sweet Peppers
-Baked Zucchini
-Caesar Salad
-Beet + Peach Salad with Balsamic Blueberry dressing

Snack: Taco in a bag, or Walking Taco, or Bag of Stuff...whatever you wanba call it.

Brunch:
-Full Service Omelette Bar
-Stuffed French Toast
-Cheesey Scrambled Eggs
-Fresh Fruit Platter
-Yogurt Parfaits
-Bacon, Sausage + Hashbrown Patties
-Maple Baked Beans

So...in among all the fabulous peoples I've been able to cook for over the years from restaurants I've run...the restaurant I owned...the camps I've head chef'd at...and those of you whom invited me into your home as Yorke In The House...sorry, but you all come second to the grand king.

It was my mooshooms / grandfathers 103rd birthday celebration today. 103 years y'all!!!
And I jumped at the chance to cook the feast.

Lots of dishes coming from every angle today with much much help from family. I didn't cook it all mind you...but here's a rundown of the menu.

Before heading into camp....I had the chance to cater a batch of regulars. Genier Financial Services has invited me to cater their Xmas staff party for quite a few years now...minus that covid hiccup. I was cooking for this group since I was still reppin Foster Jane Eatery, now as Yorke In The House...they extended the invite again. Always a blast serving these fine folks!!

Menu for the night wassssss...

-Assorted boards as appetizers.
●Charcuterie board (all smoked meats from Dabrowski's)
●Pickle board with antipasto spread
●Pulled pork hummus bowl
●Spinach dill cream cheese dip
●Tomato confit stuff pasta shells

1st course - Sweet pea and jalapeno cream soup with a tequila glass shard and buttery lime drizzle. (Of course I didn't take a pic of the first fish to go out)

2nd course - Roasted corn and chickpea salad with fresh lime, avocado and a roasted peanut lime vinagarette

3rd course - Red pepper basil risotto with baked kale chip, tahini and basil pesto and a sundried tomato + pumpkin seed paste

4th course - Cocoa pulled beef ravioli with a cherry and date compote, Kaluha butter, mocha flavoured demi glaze and toasted almonds

5th course - Proscuitto wrapped pork tenderloin with a maple and grain dijon glaze, steamed swiss chard, roasted carrots and parsnips and herb crusted baby potatoes

Yorkes on the Road. I'm in Suds taking ma to a doc appt. We found our way down to Respect Is Burning for dinner.

I've been wanting to come here for quite some time now...finally made it.

Very dope. To start...pops found himself some Innis & Gunn on tap!! Between the 3 of us we chowed on....Shrimp + Calamari Fritto Misto, Beef Carpaccio, Grilled Rib Rosticciana, Pan Chicken Alla Marsala, Lamb Chops Scottaditto, Rigatoni Funghi and a Dolcemisu to wrap it up.

If you're rolling through Sudbury and feel like grubbin..check out Respect Is Burning Kitchen and Bar. Very happy I finally got to dine here.

Ok...so technically....this wasn't a Yorke In The House gig....just me at my job....but, it was a special occassion, and I was being paid money to cook and serve food. So maybe this really was Yorke In The House production.

This is pretty much the Sportcenter highlight reel of my 3 week shift up at Victor Mine for Xmas, New Years day and so on.

I have a couple of people to get ahold of when I get out....and a dinner booked for the 20th.

So I'll be showing my face and work a little bit more often once I get my ducks in a row....right now I don't even know where those silly feathered bastards wandered off to.

Hope everyone had a safe and ejoyable holiday run...and cheers to 2023. All the love goes out to y'all from tte Yorke In The House crew (which is really...just me).

I get quite a few requests for weddings, staff parties, etc...all the larger parties that I really cannot commit to cuz I'm just 1 schmuck with 1 stove. But....I highly reccomend Erika Bazuik and her new catering service to handle all of your larger parties.
