We’re proud to host our first ever 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament.

When all three of us connected, we felt like the city needed more events like this, so we decided to bring everyone together for one night.

Thank you Toronto for supporting us for 29 years.

Staying open for nearly three decades is never easy. The city has allowed us to grow, learn, and adapt through every challenge along the way. We are grateful for your patience and support, because like any restaurant built on people and family, we are not perfect. What we strive for every single day is consistency.

That consistency only exists because of our team, the people who walk through our doors each day and set the tone and heartbeat of Hong Shing.

After all these years, we genuinely believe we are only beginning to enter our golden era. With a strong and dedicated team, a restaurant that continues to grow with the city, and the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most exciting people and brands around us, we are incredibly excited for what lies ahead. More collaborations, more partnerships, and maybe even a new expansion store 👀

On March 10, 2026, we mark 29 years in downtown Toronto. From lunch rush to late night legends, this place has been built on family, culture, and community.

Lunar New Year has always been one of our favourite times of the year, and we are grateful to celebrate it again with our community. This year, we are welcoming the season with our Lunar New Year party, hosted by Chef Wallace Wong () and Project Umami (.official ), bringing everyone together over food, drinks, and good music.

Alongside the celebration, our Lunar New Year catering menu is now available for corporate offices, staff gatherings, and private events. Whether it is a team meal or a family celebration, we are happy to help you share the season around the table.

We are also introducing our latest menu update, with a continued focus on halal certified proteins, expanding how we welcome more guests to enjoy Hong Shing. Thank you for being part of our journey and supporting us year after year.

Today, we celebrate more than just a restaurant, we celebrate a community, a family, and a movement. What started as a humble Chinese restaurant has grown into a space where culture, connection, and creativity thrive.

Every day, we push the boundaries of what a Chinese restaurant can be, fueled by the passion of our team and the love from all of you.

There was never a blueprint for success handed down to us as we had to carve our own path. And because of your unwavering support, we’ve built something special: from weekly mahjong socials to throwing the most unforgettable parties in the city, to creating Yan, our chef’s tasting menu celebrating seasonal ingredients and bold flavors.

You’re not just supporting a restaurant, you’re supporting a newer generation that believes in adapting the rules, pushing forward with tradition, and proving that anything is possible, even if you are given an 28 year old restaurant.
